The hell? Armando Galarraga starting for the Tigers. Tonight.
And oh yeah, he's been staked to a 10-1 lead, and so far through 4 innings, he's given up a homer and struck out 3. Can we please quit trading/giving away pitchers for other teams? I mean, Chris Young, John Danks, Edinson Volquez, and now Galarraga. When we get some young pitching to come up through our system, we need to keep them, not just give them away for whatever reason (at least with Volquez we got a quality player in return, but we didn't get anything useful for the rest of those), and maybe take a chance on a young guy for once?

five innings
and only one earned run so far. most importantly, no walks and five k’s. I believe that would be a better k/bb ratio than any ranger starter so far this year.
good thing our scouts decided he wasn’t going to pan out.
can we just let monkeys throw darts from now on?

Do People Think Clearly Before Posting?
I’m sorry if you take this as rude, but I don’t intend for it to be. It’s just that if you would have thought through this before posting it might not have been necessary.
Armando Galarraga is a 26 year old. No, that’s not too old, but has he had his chances? Well, yeah. This will be his seventh year of professional baseball. And last season was his first time to pitch above AA. He was only decent in AA as well. He had some highlights and some rough spots. He struggled in AAA and in the pros last season. Therefore, I don’t think one good start in the majors is evidence enough that he’s going to be a good pitcher as you seem to assume.
Furthermore, the Rangers have Luis Mendoza, Kason Gabbard and will soon have Brandon McCarthy pitching as starters. They are all three younger than Galarraga. Furthermore, with Hurley, Loe and Murray (who are all younger than Galarraga) in the wings in case of injuries, I’m pretty confident that your concern of the Rangers “maybe [taking] a chance on a young guy for once” isn’t justified.

And furthermore
he only got this start because of an injury to Willis. People are strangely silent on the nowhereness of other arms the Rangers “gave away” like Rob Bell or some such.
