Game 16 game day thread

Texas @ Toronto

Some big questions for tonight's game...can the Rangers win 2 in a row?  Can Josh Lewin avoid making any "Duran Duran" jokes with German Duran playing third base?  Can Ron Washington leave Jason Botts in for an entire game?  Can Vicente Padilla throw 150 pitches, if need be (given that Josh Rupe is the only fresh arm in the pen)?

Vicente Padilla v. Roy Halladay...

Go Rangers...

You know

That Lewin can’t resist it, and I wouldn’t want him to—it’s part of his charm.

Yeah,

Vegas isn’t even taking bets on a Duran Duran reference

The Reflex

and Hungry like the Wolf will both be referenced in this game. I’m not sure Lewin can find a way to sneak in a reference to Rio or A View to a KIll but I’m sure he will try.

Good to see Duran- Botts

but Halladay is nasty when he is on so I am not too excited.

by coolaid on Apr 17, 2008 5:53 PM CDT   0 recs

Hits

We might scratch across 3 or 4 hits, maybe even an unearned run late.

by RA Dickey on Apr 17, 2008 5:54 PM CDT   0 recs

so Fox knows the game starts at 6:05, right?

there’s boxing on right now on FSSW…

Grieve: The Yanks have struggled so far. - Lewin: Yeah, cry me a bag of money.

by WhipSmart on Apr 17, 2008 5:59 PM CDT   0 recs

Yeah, same here ...

They had boxing on instead of “Rangers Live” as well. This reallly pisses me off, Time Warner is always doing this shit because they think nobody cares about the Rangers down here. I’m going to call them (yet again) right now.

Yeah ...

... I just called and they said it is FSN and there is nothing they can do. This is the same thing they say every time, but this is the first time I am inclined to believe them.

Someone better get fired over this.

No kidding

it is bad enough that their picture always blows, no matter what sport. Then the only original programming they have is the Best Damn Sports Show, which is quite possibly the worst show on TV.

they don't email back and I'm sure they know the feed is screwed

won’t help much

by WhipSmart on Apr 17, 2008 6:12 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

So did I

It won’t help, but you might as well do it anyway. All you need to do is go to Foxsports.com and search keyword Rangers Booth.

by uthornfan on Apr 17, 2008 6:16 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

you'd think

they would at least scroll a message on the screen letting us know what’s up

by Randy Richardson on Apr 17, 2008 6:12 PM CDT   0 recs

My prediction:

Vinny Beaner gets ejected in the 1st inning. Mendoza is called upon, giving the Rangers a great start that is lost only when Broussard is brought in to close the game.
