Milton Bradley
I am glad to see him start to catch fire. Looks like he should be worth a few good prospects come June. Say what you want about most of JD's trades (I agree most suck). But he has gotten pretty good at giving players second chances with the one year deal and striking prospect gold at the trade deadline. But it seems as if all that brilliance goes by the way side during the offseason.

Um.......................................
Who said we would shop Milton Bradley?
Thats right, nobody. So stop spreading rumors that are not true at all…

Since
we are out of it, we trade a huge part of our team in MB?
I beg to differ, I would like to see him in a Rangers uniform for eternity…

I agree with you miles
If he can stay healthy and keep his head right with ball he is young enough to sign to a 2 to 3 year contract. I would have no problem with that.

That's a pretty big risk
IF he stays healthy this season, he’s going to put up monster numbers and command a monster fairly long-term commitment. I don’t think that signing him to that deal would be such a good idea.

show me our other outfield options
and then I’ll decide to trade him…for now, he’s by far our 2nd best outfielder and quite possibly our best, don’t forget Josh hasn’t had a full year in the majors in his career…

Well
you don’t trade him now, by any means. At the deadline, if you aren’t in it, then you almost have to trade him, unless you think that he may get you draft pick compensation. The fact that Hamilton is injury prone as well almost cements it for me. And while you are right about Josh, his major league career consists of one year, where MB hasn’t played a complete season in eight years.

Milton Bradley
has proven to be fools gold over the years because of his injuries. he is a great ballplayer and has certainly made a great first impression for Rangers fans, but if we can get a couple of solid pieces down the road for him, all the better. He is on a one year deal, and chances are some team (looking at you, Angels. Your 5th OF is clearly a position of weakness) will overpay this offseason.

Heh..
The Angels will only sign him if he makes more Top 10 defensive plays.
As tempting as it is, I think you have to trade him if we’re out of it…which we should be.

Board Game...
He’s a great hitter. Hard to argue that. The problem with him has always been staying healthy. That said, it makes it very hard to sign him to any longer than a 1 year deal.
If the Rangers are out of the race they have to look at getting what the can for Milton. I wouldn’t be in a rush to deal him, but you have to listen. If a team offers a couple strong prospects I think you have to pull the trigger. Hell, the Rangers could always go after him again next year and try to sign him again if they want to.

Milton Bradley needs a permanent home.
...it’s still early… but if he continues to produce like this… i think you’d be better served extending him.

Too risky to keep
might bring back something nice from a contender in need. Of course, it’s just way too early to think about that sort of thing. Let’s worry about this in June.

spare me the "risk" and "health" talk...
Hamilton hasn’t played a full season healthy…
Brandon McCarthy… (yeech)... hasn’t played a full season healthy…
and if you’re reaching for the “age” card… i’ll remind you that the list of free-agent corner outfielders next season is about as laughable as this past off-season’s…
and we aren’t exactly deep on the farm either…

You picked bad comps
Both McCarthy and Hamilton are under team control for a few more years, MUCH less risk there. I just don’t think Bradley is a good risk given the dollars he’ll likely require to sign again. Time will tell.

That team control angle
trumps the injury risk. You are much better off taking that risk with a player whose contract value you control to a large degree over one who can sign with any team for any dollar amount.
Don’t get me wrong, I’d be happy to have Bradley around if the price is right. But if the team is offered something good for him this summer they’d be foolish not to take it.

As an A's fan, we thought the same thing. His first
year everything was great, him and Swisher were dancing, all was right in the world. Then he gets hurt, starts sulking, and then all hell broke loose. I don’t know if he can be anywhere for more than 2 years without wearing out his welcome.

Tough Decision
All signs say “trade him”, but DAMN he’s the kind of hitter I like. If the Rangers don’t re-sign or extend him, then they damn well better bring somebody in that works the count like he does.
I guess the fact that they sought out Bradley in the first place is encouraging. And you’re even seeing people like Hack Blalock draw walks. Clearly they’re trying to get away from being a free swinging-for-the-fences team, and that’s good. No matter how they do it.

trade
Last time I checked there s no reason we cannot both Trade and sign Bradley ths offseason if he truly does lke t here, if he does not lke it here then let hm go because he has the tpe of personality that you would rather get rid of a half season too early rather than a half season too late
