Armando Galarraga
I thought it was a ridiculous move when we got rid of Galarraga. We've apparently let two really good pitchers go this winter, although we did get Hamilton in one of those deals. Below is what Armando Galarraga did in a spot start for Detroit while Willis is on the DL:
"Galarraga (1-0) gave up two runs and only one hit over 6 2-3 innings in his Detroit debut Wednesday in a win over Cleveland.
He gave up a first-inning home run Wednesday night,
then retired the next 17 batters he faced in winning as a substitute
starter for injured LHP Dontrelle Willis. Galarraga showed superlative
command of a low 90s fastball set up by a pinpoint breaking ball."
I know you can't judge a pitcher solely on one start, but this was one
'Great' start. I'm shocked that we would give him up so easily.
Another move that could haunt our management and specifically JD.

A 26 year old...
...with a decent season at AA last year…
I wasn’t thrilled about the decision to DFA him, but let’s not proclaim this a disaster until he’s made a couple more starts.

Hey
Did you hear we just traded Chris Young? I know it just happened and a few other people have commented on it, but have YOU heard about it and started a thread on it yet?

You have NothinG
Move on if he continues then you might have something but it sounds like you are kneejerking. Are you hurlerhurley’s spawn?

I was only
stating the fact that he had a great start. Any time you get 17 consecutive batters out, and give up one hit in your outing, that’s pretty damn good. I’m not sure if everyone realized that he had made the start.
A kneejerk implies that I changed my mind and previously liked the deal. I didn’t.
How many times have we had starts like that? How would you react if he had started for us and had done the same thing?

nice
I know you can’t judge a pitcher solely on one start, but I’m going to do it anyway.
But that river of tears has dried for all of us.

Classic
Maybe he’ll beat HH to the next diary about a Danks start.

Seriously
wait a couple of starts before proclaiming he is a star. Wait until the league gets a scouting report on him and then see how he does.

On that note
Speaking of getting rid of pitchers, I just ran across an old article this morning mentioning Fabio Castro, so I thought I’d see how he was doing now.
