First!

Probably too much to hope for a Jason Botts sighting...

by Apes and Androids on Apr 1, 2008 8:04 PM CDT   0 recs

+1!

I'd love for part of the "new look" to be a return to the red uniforms of the 1990s. - Ian Kinsler

by ortonius on Apr 1, 2008 8:12 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Been doing since First! Grade!

I doubt we'll see Botts, but luckily I picked up O'Flaherty for my fantasy team today!

DFA Broussard! He's the new Barajas...*sigh*

by ortonius on Apr 1, 2008 8:12 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Hmmm

Wasn't there an article recently where Wash said that Benny B. wasn't being put in the 9-hole because he was a bad hitter?

by rcreative on Apr 1, 2008 8:13 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

This doesn't look good...

I'm already tired and I'm not liking my chances to see the action tonight. Maybe this is what Jason Botts feels like riding the pine?

by rcreative on Apr 1, 2008 8:12 PM CDT   0 recs

9:05 starts aren't any fun.

by nikpin on Apr 1, 2008 8:33 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

10:05 starts are worse

I may not make the first pitch for the next two games.

TiVo is my friend.

by Chris Hanes on Apr 1, 2008 8:38 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I persoanlly don't go to bed at 10

Sorry I just checked the start and it is 9:10 CST.

But most nights I'm in bed between 11-12.

by nikpin on Apr 1, 2008 8:45 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

6 hours of sleep

Or I feel useless the next day.

Yes I knew it was a 10:10 start but the post ahead said 10:05 so I went with it.

So particular. Don't get it sometimes.

by Chris Hanes on Apr 1, 2008 8:48 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

just hammering home

that the game is even further away.

you have to get up at 4? thats no good

by ab03 on Apr 1, 2008 8:51 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I can't remember the last time

I got 6 or more hours of sleep.

Chronic insomnia sucks... lucky to get two hours in a row.

Grieve: The Yanks have struggled so far. - Lewin: Yeah, cry me a bag of money.

by WhipSmart on Apr 1, 2008 8:51 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

wow

i would suggest you take drugs for that but the drugs that are currently out there are down right scary

maybe scotch wouldn't be that bad

by ab03 on Apr 1, 2008 8:52 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

bourbon helps

but the drugs don't. my doctors are as stumped as I am.

but it's only been goin' on for the last 18yrs, so it should stop just anytime.

Grieve: The Yanks have struggled so far. - Lewin: Yeah, cry me a bag of money.

by WhipSmart on Apr 1, 2008 8:54 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

That's nuts

Are you tired during the day?

by Chris Hanes on Apr 1, 2008 8:55 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

yes

at least until about 10pm. That's when my body seems to wake up. Saying I'm nocturnal doesn't really cover it. Maybe if I lived overseas, my internal clock would make more sense...

Grieve: The Yanks have struggled so far. - Lewin: Yeah, cry me a bag of money.

by WhipSmart on Apr 1, 2008 8:57 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Not good

My chronic insomnia is a 6 month old sleeping in a bed right next to me right now, so while I try to get that 6 hours, it usually doesn't work out that way.

by Chris Hanes on Apr 1, 2008 8:54 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

been there

and it made me appreciate the sleep I was able to get all that much more

Grieve: The Yanks have struggled so far. - Lewin: Yeah, cry me a bag of money.

by WhipSmart on Apr 1, 2008 8:55 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Ambien

It works mircales.

by cmkelly29 on Apr 1, 2008 9:10 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

yeah

like making people drive while sleeping. won't touch the stuff.

Grieve: The Yanks have struggled so far. - Lewin: Yeah, cry me a bag of money.

by WhipSmart on Apr 1, 2008 9:11 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

yup

how many ambien related deaths have there been at this point?

by ab03 on Apr 1, 2008 9:13 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

well,

Google is your friend

Grieve: The Yanks have struggled so far. - Lewin: Yeah, cry me a bag of money.

by WhipSmart on Apr 1, 2008 9:15 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

OD

Using Ambien properly works for most. Abusing it might kill you, as is the case with most prescription drugs.

by cmkelly29 on Apr 1, 2008 9:17 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

That must be awful. If I don't get 8-9 I feel like hell...

Can someone tell me

When was the last day the rangers had a winning record?

How long has it been...

by SaltyGoesYard on Apr 1, 2008 8:13 PM CDT   0 recs

09/23/2006

Yay, the Rangers are in first place!

Yankees

They scratch out the go-ahead run in the bottom of the 7th, then they have Joba for the 8th, Mariano for the 9th. sigh

by shroomer on Apr 1, 2008 8:15 PM CDT   0 recs

Insurance

Nothing like it. They're looking for some here in the bottom of the 8th.

by Chris Hanes on Apr 1, 2008 8:29 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

So?

You say that like it's a bad thing! Winning is for north-eastern teams! Us Texas area teams are against it... accept for those damn Spurs who won't fall in line!

by rcreative on Apr 1, 2008 8:16 PM CDT   0 recs

Look upon the Lookout Landing

pre-game open thread and weep. Heh.

by redwolf75 on Apr 1, 2008 8:28 PM CDT   0 recs

Great

They're my WS pick. Great start.....

And with the 22nd overall selection the Dallas Cowboys select Jonathan Stewart.

by TheBZA on Apr 1, 2008 8:43 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I hope

you weren't counting on Pedro to do anything for them.

He is done.

They will be fine though, it is the NL...

Milton Bradley for MVP

by miles on Apr 1, 2008 8:58 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

That means

Pedro will win the Cy Young. ;)

by sprite on Apr 1, 2008 9:00 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Done?

Strained Hammy is 3-4 Weeks. Maybe for an old man like Pedro 3-6.

Pregame question

Can someone tell me why Millwood didn't qualify for a QS yesterday..? I thought a pircher got a QS if he went at least 6 and gave up less than 3 runs...

Or do I have it wrong?

Grieve: The Yanks have struggled so far. - Lewin: Yeah, cry me a bag of money.

by WhipSmart on Apr 1, 2008 9:02 PM CDT   0 recs

You are right

He had a QS.

Where does it say otherwise?

by Adam J. Morris on Apr 1, 2008 9:04 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

ESPN's game day recap

but I guess they changed it from last night...

Grieve: The Yanks have struggled so far. - Lewin: Yeah, cry me a bag of money.

by WhipSmart on Apr 1, 2008 9:07 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Over under

on pitches and innings before Padilla's first HBP?

by simplesimon on Apr 1, 2008 9:06 PM CDT   0 recs

45 pitches & 2 1/3 innings

Yay, the Rangers are in first place!

by RangerMoto on Apr 1, 2008 9:07 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

his first pitch after Milton Bradley get screwed by an ump

will hit the home plate umpire right in the mask.

Grieve: The Yanks have struggled so far. - Lewin: Yeah, cry me a bag of money.

by WhipSmart on Apr 1, 2008 9:08 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

1 man 5 tools

will not let that ball go by him.

by murph22 on Apr 1, 2008 9:10 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Too late

Warming up in the pen he plunked Chiti.

by shroomer on Apr 1, 2008 9:08 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

29

He does look slightly slimmer though.

by nikpin on Apr 1, 2008 9:09 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Does anybody wish...

that we were in the NL Central? I hate being in the West. Plus, I've always liked national league ball more. Rangers/Astros in the same division would be awesome. Late games like this make me wish this was true.

by Garcia on Apr 1, 2008 9:12 PM CDT   0 recs

NL central doesn't mean you don't ever play on the West Coast

Grieve: The Yanks have struggled so far. - Lewin: Yeah, cry me a bag of money.

by WhipSmart on Apr 1, 2008 9:13 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

yeah, but the unbalanced schedule

makes us play on the west more than most. being in the central would limit our trips to play west coast teams.

by Garcia on Apr 1, 2008 9:15 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

NL ball

puts me to sleep, but we would be a playoff team every year..

Sopcast?

Anybody have the link? I still haven't figured out how to search for feeds.

by AmnGuest2006 on Apr 1, 2008 9:13 PM CDT   0 recs

what's been people's experience with Sopcast? I'll probably sign up for MLB.TV in the next few days, but I want to try some free (and yes, illegal) streaming alternatives first.

by alon91 on Apr 1, 2008 9:18 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

usually pretty good

low-res, but hey...

Grieve: The Yanks have struggled so far. - Lewin: Yeah, cry me a bag of money.

by WhipSmart on Apr 1, 2008 9:19 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

well

the working the counts thing was nice while it lasted

by JBImaknee on Apr 1, 2008 9:14 PM CDT   0 recs

Last time I saw Felix pitch

In Frisco, against John Hudgins.

Pitcher's duel that I think Hudgins got the better end of.

Lot different results these days.

by Chris Hanes on Apr 1, 2008 9:16 PM CDT   0 recs

Nice start.

The hitters need to pick it up.

by Athos on Apr 1, 2008 9:16 PM CDT   0 recs

Positive Start

gonna be a long nite for king felix.

by murph22 on Apr 1, 2008 9:17 PM CDT   0 recs

well

looks like it might be another long night...

by kumizi on Apr 1, 2008 9:17 PM CDT   0 recs

what

you don't think Padilla is going to match the King?

by JBImaknee on Apr 1, 2008 9:18 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Okay

First innings like that make me want to go to bed early.

And Roy Hobbs needs to start hitting like it is early March.

by Adam J. Morris on Apr 1, 2008 9:18 PM CDT   0 recs

x

"its good to be king"

How many F'ing times has Lewin said that the past few years?

His schick gets so old so fast.

speak for yourself

Im glad we have Lewin instead of some old, boring bastard like Tom Grieve.

by kumizi on Apr 1, 2008 9:19 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Lewin's just fine

just don't look at his eyes...

Grieve: The Yanks have struggled so far. - Lewin: Yeah, cry me a bag of money.

by WhipSmart on Apr 1, 2008 9:20 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Dammit Hamilton.

That's crappy.

by Athos on Apr 1, 2008 9:18 PM CDT   0 recs

Ugh

Hamilton misreads an easy out.

by jamcadbury on Apr 1, 2008 9:18 PM CDT   0 recs

what.

Ya....That's Real Mature.

by SMITTY on Apr 1, 2008 9:18 PM CDT   0 recs

by Longhorn on Apr 1, 2008 9:20 PM CDT   0 recs

how much I hate watching Padilla pitch.

by Garcia on Apr 1, 2008 9:20 PM CDT   0 recs

by nikpin on Apr 1, 2008 9:21 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs
