ESPN: Chat with BA's Jim Callis
Luis (San Juan, PR): Volquez o Hamilton? Short and long termSportsNation Jim Callis: Hamilton, Hamilton. Though Volquez has been resurgent this spring and looks like he will help the Reds.chris, madison wi: Is this how you envisioned Josh Hamilton when he was drafted? His talent is jaw dropping, he made game changing plays in the Outfield last night and then wins it with a jack off Putz.SportsNation Jim Callis: Yes. This is how good he was supposed to be. It speaks to his talent that he was able to go through all the injuries and drug problems and come back like this.

nope, i see it
odd.

looks like it originates
from the Fanshots section.
My guess it that AJM made the decision to promote it? that or it was random.

That is correct
I decided to bump it to the main page...I was going to mention it in a post at some point anyway, so this seemed to be the way to go...

I think its a cool idea
to get random contributors from the LSB community on the main page... obviously when it warrants it.

Agreed
I have seen quite a few too... just thought this one was done kind of interestingly (given that it was out of the fanshots, and thus was in a bubble).

was just about to post this...
there was also another comment on the rangers other than a couple early hamilton ones.
JD (Arlington, TX): Jim, Anyone I could get in the draft at #11 to help my big league bullpen this year?
Jim Callis: There are a lot of college relievers (or pitchers who project as relievers), though I'm not sure I'd pop any of them as high as No. 11. If that's the goal, though, I'd start with Georgia's Josh Fields. Others would include Pepperdine's Brett Hunter (if healthy), Texas Tech's Zach Stewart and Rice's Bryan Price.
Have to say this one was really frustrating. Seeing as how most mocks you can even find are usually top tens and the rangers pick 11, its hard to get any kind of insight on who the rangers might pick or want. This is the first question i've seen regarding the rangers draft this year and the guy wants to know about getting a reliever for the big league squad at 11? Aren't we supposed to be rebuilding?

im betting we draft
best high school arm or best corner infielder available with a preference to the high school kids.
just a guess based on JD showing a tendency to go young, which i agree with. i trust our club to develop these young kids a ton more than any college thats for sure. JD seems to agree at least when its come to early.

JJ Putz to DL
They are saying rib cage injury, but I think it is the sore neck syndrome caused by Hambone's smash.

According to the guys at LL
It can be months before the pain subsides.
Some are calling for RA to fill the closer role now.

its not realistic
dickey is out of options - if they called him up, they'd have to DFA someone later probbaly.

they are gonna get whiplash from that grit and its gonna hurt.
nothing better than watching a team count on RA Gritty and Whiffy and also be the "favorites" to win the West. Ill enjoy watching that meltdown all season.

1st time I ever went to LL was clicking your link. How funny they have the "Ass Whipped" player sitting in the dugout as their main site pic.

What's up with redwolf75?
The guy has been posting on Halos Heaven and here constantly lately. Is this what we have to look forward to? And why can't he take his dumbass over Athletics Nation every now and again? Are the Rangers that threatening?
I know, I know, I'm just encouraging him. At least I haven't replied to him.
What happened to my old signature?

"jack off Putz."
Nice choice of words. It made me laugh. Sorry, I couldn't resist.
