On the plus side...
Tomorrow's game is in the morning. So most of us will be at work, and thus, if the Rangers lose again in horrifying fashion, we won't have to actually see it.

Yay
We just get to come home and read about how they blew up once again or heaven forbid listen to the game on the radio and hear it live.

Hey
at least the Patriots and Timothy “Tuck Rule” Brady lost.
So suck it, Boston!

Concur...
I think I have watched maybe 2 games live this year, and one was openeing day. I perfer to record the game and then watch it at night after my wife and daughter have gone to bed.
Plus my daughter doesn’t need to go to school talking like a sailor.

I will be using DVR also. Just hope its not a bad afternoon.
The Texas Rangers rounded the bases at a dizzying pace
yep
then only 1.5 hours of our time is wasted as opposed to 3 hrs.

Thoughts on Wash...
I make NO defense for Wash….
BUT,
shoving Conner and Rudy down his throat is on JD (and, or Hicks).
So…..all Wash gets to coach is defense?
I’m sure Wash was able to educate Rudy on the offensive philosophy he wanted implemented…
NOT
Dont even start with the Cowboys (Garrett hired first) argument….at least they came in together.

To be fair
I’m sure Wash knew that Rudy was almost untouchable before he took the gig. Letting Rudy go because Wash was unfamiliar with him would’ve been a bad idea. You and I both know how revered Rudy is in that clubhouse. If they fired him to placate a new (first time) manager, Wash’s tenure would’ve already been off to a crappy start.
Wash vs Players
the players needed to be certain that it was Wash’s team and they would be expected to do things his way…with no one that might offer them sympathy if they disagreed.
If Wash needed a “good cop” to his “bad cop” it should be Howe, who of course answers to Wash.
Rudy answers to Hicks.
I doubt that Connor or Rudy take Wash seriously…why would they?

Is there
a general consensus that Connor is a bad pitching coach?
I always thought he was pretty decent.

I'm not
arguing Connor’s cred…
simply saying that I doubt Wash is able to dictate to him how he wants the pitching staff coached.
Wash will be fired, i have no doubt.
Saddly, we wont truly know what a “Wash” team looks like.
Sure they may have sucked even if he brought in his own staff…but at least if they failed it would be clear where to lay the blame.

Im not sure what Connor has done wrong,
the starting pitchers are somewhat solid, and the bullpen has slipped only a couple times in such an early season.
Adam loves him some Lard
Davis today...
3-4, 2 HR, 3 RBI, 3 R
Now hitting .352 / .407 / .702 that’s right a 1.129 OPS with 5 HR, 13 RBI, and even 2-2 in SB.
I believe he’s even capable of hitting a bases empty grand slam.

Several players skipped AAA and didn't seem overmatched
namely our own Jarrod Saltalamacchia even if he’s there now.
If he was to come up and tank, and I think he’d have to tank the way that Broussard and Botts have played not to get a LONG look, it’s not a major setback for him. He can go down to AAA, get readjusted/mature/whatever and come back up in September or worst case sometime next season.
give it another month
and i’m with you. botts and davis can handle 1B together. Botts can get his playing time through DH/1B which should yield a good 200-300 PA. That’s not bad. There’s really no need for Broussard to be here.

I'm actually off work tomorrow...
We’ll see if I decide to sleep in, or drag my ass out of bed to see if we get hammered or not.
If I do, it’ll be interesting to see how many people will be on the gameday thread. Anyone else planning to get up and watch/listen?
I should be up.
I got a 10 and 11 o’clock but I’m probably out on those and depending on if the game is over/close I’ll decide on going to my 1.
White Women!
I'll skip my 11:30
if it’s a fucking well-played ballgame for once.

Heh
the game wasn’t a disaster by 11:20. By 11:35, I was regretting it —or should I say, Dusty Tits entered the game.

I actually got up and tuned in
Just when Pedroia hit his 2-run double in the 4th. I promptly turned the game off, and went out for breakfast. I hate to admit it, but that’s the first time I’ve ever done that with a Ranger game.
