Most annoying thing ever
I told my buddy high school everything about Josh and how good he’s going to be. For our fantasy league that son of a bitch went way above slot and took him out from underneath me.
What happened to my old signature?
Yuck
Just now I turned the game on, saw the score, then turned it right back off.
What happened to Gabbard?

stiff back
was the official explanation
Grieve: The Yanks have struggled so far. - Lewin: Yeah, cry me a bag of money.
Bleck
looking at the box it looks like ole Dusty Tits officially sucks ass.

Found TAG's comment
Top of the fifth when they came back from commercial he said “oh shit”. Nothing huge.

Interesting note re: me and the server
I never got any registration popups… but the page never fully finishes loading, so I have to hit “refresh” on my browser to get new comments.
I’m on firefox for the mac (at work)... tried it in safari and same thing.
I figured out a work-around for the pop-up
when you hit reply and it pops-up, click the screen to make it go away and then hit F5 to refresh the page. Unfortunately, you seem to have to do this everytime.
Grieve: The Yanks have struggled so far. - Lewin: Yeah, cry me a bag of money.
Heh
yikes.

seems to be a stiff-back epidemic in MLB
PED withdraw?
Grieve: The Yanks have struggled so far. - Lewin: Yeah, cry me a bag of money.
I was wondering the same thing
not sure it is PED related but there are tons of stiff backs…maybe the weather has been cooler than normal.
josh
no Frank Thomas in a Rangers Uniform..please no
talent question...
we hear that our line-up is not as good as Boston. Besides Youkilis and Ortiz, who in Boston’s starting 9 today would be starting in our line-up?
OK
Manny, Pedroia, I’ll give Josh the edge over Ellsbury, JD Drew and even Tek. The only guys I’d take over theirs are MY at SS, Blalock at 3B and Josh.
What happened to my old signature?
I would take Ian
over Pedroia any day of the week
by texrangers31 on Apr 21, 2008 1:14 PM CDT up reply actions
I debated that
And I won’t disagree with you. But Pedroia has better patience and better D.

Then you're insane
Have you checked pedroia’s stats against Ian? The sox are better without question in 7 positions.
I thought our management was insane, but maybe they’re not so bad. To look at these two teams and believe that only a couple of red sox players are better is to have blinders on. They’re better for a reason, superior players up and down the lineup.

You make a good point
but I would no doubt take everybody in their bullpen
German
Interesting thing I’ve noticed about him… he can’t keep inherited runners from scoring to save his life, but none of his runners ever seem to score.
but today
they are missing manram, and varitek, and lowell. All three I would take
lowell over blalock
i think its pretty close i would take blalock simply for the age

Wham! Baby Rusty..
off a lefty!
It could be worse, we could still have Whiffy in the lineup:
Whiffy in 2008
.135 BA
.162 Slg.
0 HR
4 RBI
Yea but
if we keep him in the lineup I think Jason is gonna break out
You gotta hope for Botts
just so BB doesn’t get any more starts.
...it's the weekend, so why the hell not?
Benoit on
This could go one of two ways… either he’ll strike out the side on nine pitches, or we’ll be on the wrong end of Boston breaking our 30-3 record.
I was hoping the Rangers would carry interest until at least the draft
Thus…. with the 22nd pick of the first round, the Dallas Cowboys select…....
There is no such thing as global warming. David Murphy was cold, so he turned the sun up.
oh John Kerry threw out the first pitch..
isn’t that special!
It could be worse, we could still have Whiffy in the lineup:
Whiffy in 2008
.135 BA
.162 Slg.
0 HR
4 RBI
hahaha because he was gonna throw the pitch..
before he decided not to.

John Kerry threw out the first pitch?
Was the city of Boston really that short on celebs, or are all their celebs just lazy?
they asked Ben Affleck to..
but he said he’d rather do it when a good team comes to town.

Broussard
I wonder if 3 people will tell me im insane next time i bring up shelton again.
Gerald Laird is my hero.
Hmn...
Good thing I decided to skip this game, and go out for brunch.
Based on the box score… it would seem Kason Gabbard has already seen his durability issues rear their head. Wonderful.
Nippert relly got hammered… oh, and is that a 4 I see in Franklyn German’s walk collumn?
Sweet.
The offense has 8 hits and 4 walks, and we leave 9 of those guys on base.
Smashing.
At least Benoit pitched a scoreless inning.
Gabbard caught a spike
on the mound. Freak occurrence.
I hardly see that as indicative of durability issues.
...it's the weekend, so why the hell not?
michael pulling the ball
that’s something you don’t see every day
Between Verlander and Padilla
there should be more than a few HBB.. This team needs a brawl. Nothing else is gonna fire them up at this point..
Grieve: The Yanks have struggled so far. - Lewin: Yeah, cry me a bag of money.
I really wanna see this team fight
With Josh Hamilton, Jason Botts, Prison Shank Bradley and Franklyn “the Latino Leon Lett” German, we can’t possibly be beat.

was like a mercy killing shot to the head of a horse with a broken leg.

haha yep that pretty much sums it up.

well
we did get two game day threads going for this game…so there is that
This isn't a second gameday thread
So much as it is a thread to provide people with somewhere to vent after the game.
what does that make now?
7-13… 5 games back… after a 4-game losing streak
Not to be a Pollyanna, but things could be worse… things aren’t good, by any stretch, but all hope is not yet lost.
ugh…
Grieve: The Yanks have struggled so far. - Lewin: Yeah, cry me a bag of money.
Actually, we are off to our worst start since 2002
It can’t get much worse than 7-13. This team is better than a 7-13 team. They’re just not playing like it.
good for my fantasy team
and good for Ortiz. Rangers are a healing elixir to so many teams…so sad

is that still a horrible trade?

I don't even know what to call it
now…a catastrophe? an epidemic??

I'd have to say its a pandemic at this point..
because every time you read the sports section they are getting panned.

I know
but this has been such a legendary display of Epic Fail in its many forms. This should be a celebration of Fail. I hope success comes later, because yes, I will run out of fail images.

Fortunately the Failblog still gets updated, I believe
But by the middle of May, we should start seeing some repeats on the “Fail” images here at LSB.
Actually, we may need to start making our own.
Detroit
Hey, at least we’re missing Galarraga.
He went today, 5.1 shutout innings…

JD should do
the exact opposite of whatever he is thinking of doing. That would be productive.
