The Rangers have optioned Kaz Fukumori to AAA to make room for Sidney Ponson.

T.R. Sullivan says, in the same item, that the Rangers are holding off on doing anything with Hank Blalock, hoping he'll be ready to go next week. Otherwise, you could see Brandon Boggs come up, if Blalock goes to the d.l., I'd think...

Shows you the Rangers have already figured out Fukumori’s turning into a bust. He just doesn’t have the control over his junkballs to be effective, it seems.

He broke Adam Melhuse’s hand on a warmup toss in the dirt, for petes sake.

Ii also shows you the Rangers want Josh Rupe out there in case Ponson melts down tonight. Which, of course, is the correct move.

More like logical choice

Im sure if they could they would bring up Mench and let Boggs continue to develop at AAA since he has had a total of 3 weeks there so far. But to do that would require another roster move. With both Duran and Vasquez up you don’t need another IF and with Byrd on the DL and Bradley gimpy right now you need another OF. Boggs is the only one other than Borbon who is on options and you can do this with easily.Theres no question the Rangers thought highly of him because they did add him to the 40 man instead of risk losing him to rule V. But I think if you asked the Rangers they would tell you ideally they would keep him in AAA all year and let him continue to develop.
