OT: Dallas Stars Game 2 (Round 2) Thread
Dallas is looking to go up 2-0 in the series with two straight wins on the road in a hostile environment. If the Stars win this game, the bandwagon will really be getting heavy.

Right there with you
It’s kinda nice having two teams in the playoffs, namely the Stars and the Mavs.
After their Game 1 win, I don’t see any reason that the Stars have less of a chance to make it to the Cup Series than any team. They are playing good in all areas.

Stars go back up 3-2!
They are playing like it’s their year.
They just don’t want to lose.
I won’t bring up the exceelent GM moves they made, even thought it’s working as predicted…I got blasted last time…for being right.

Richards
I don’t follow closely, but did he get off to a slow start? I want to say I read that towards the end of the season.
Did he take some time learning the system?

After his first game
he struggled to fit in and the team struggled mightily.
My depth of feel isn’t strong enough to know whether it was more about the system or his role (and the less than elite wingers he had/has playing with him). My guess is that he was pressing, was adapting to his role, and that the team around him (maybe aside from his linemate Erikson) wasn’t playing well, which made it harder on him.
You probably know this, but he has gained a reputation as a guy who has the ability to step up his game for the playoffs, and if he hadn’t just been traded, that’s probably what all of this would be attributed to.

Yup.
He’s everything the Mavs wish Kidd were. He makes everybody around him better.

YESSS!!!!
5-2!!!!! Game OVER!!! Up 2-0 coming back home, but the Sharks play better on the road and beat us a lot at the AAC during the season.

Yup...
The road team won pretty well every one of the 8 regular season games. As Razor was saying after the game, “Now the Stars need to go steal one at home”
I’d be happy with taking 1 of the 2 home games (especially with them back to back nights) and be up 3-1. That gives 3 chances to win one game at that point which I feel pretty good at the odds are with this team the way they’ve been playing.

takes the quality of the DMN Stars blog up a notch with a classic “who’s your favorite Star” poll:

I’m feeling some follow-ups:
Should Brett Hull’s Cup clinching goal have been allowed?
Is Wayne Gretzky the best player of all time?
Does Pete Rose belong in the HOF?

Did you see
Did you see the disastrous circulation numbers for the DMN? I think they were down over 10% or something ridiculous. If they are hoping to make up that money online, having poochie ruin four blogs is not the way to do it. Dallas Morning News, running off customers one bad blogger at a time.

Apparently
it had nothing to do with sports…Sportsday is annually recognized as one of the nation’s best.
It seems that many, many readers were incensed over DMN’s choice of illegal immigrants as their DMN 2007 Texan of the Year. Don’t think the blogging nhas anything to do with it.

I doubt it has much to do
with Illegal Immigrants as Texan of the year.
It probably has to do more with the wholesale collapse of all papers circulation. The internet is destroying the old newspaper model. I don’t know about other folks, but most folks I know get their news by TV and internet now, and newspapers are getting more irrelevent.

You're probably correct
...certainly makes more sense. I was just passing along a number of comments overheard, but overall economics and internet-newspaper reading are the likely reasons.
