Botts pissed...takes a shot at the Org.
"I think I've been here for a pretty long time and I deserve a fresh start somewhere else. It's not the most negative thing to me right now that this has happened. I'm excited about it."
Asked if he thinks he'll get back to the majors?
"I don't know. I think there's plenty of examples of people leaving the Texas Rangers and going on to really great things. There could be something huge in my future. Kind of an exciting moment."
Plenty of examples? You've spoken true Bottsy. I can't blame him. He's funny.

Thats great
Now I hope he clears waivers and we assign him to OKC for the rest of the year and don’t bring him back up. Maybe show him he needs to act like a professional. Then he can be an almost 29 year old with no major league experience looking for a job this winter. Good luck with that. He has nobody but himself to blame for being DFAd right now. If he had taken advantage of the opportunities given him he would be playing everyday.

That is ri-god-damn-diculous. The way this team has handled Botts is borderline criminal.

You mean 282 at bats over four years? After destroying every level of the minor leagues?

No fuck that
How Botts was handled? He had the typical progression for most guys out of high school. He got a couple September callups and did nothing with them. He was handed the starting DH job before last season but couldn’t hold off a 38 year old street free agent who hadn’t played baseball in over a year. Then after once again handling AAA he was handed on a silver fucking platter playing time every fucking day for two months. He didn’t get it because Sosa couldn’t hit. We sat our most productive bat down for Botts’ sorry ass. And we had to watch him spare us to death all while watching David Murphy, with a much less steller minor league career, produce. Its his own damn fault he is on the waiver wire right now. If he could play in the field or hit the ball he would have a job. Wow what a concept, expecting a major leaguer to be able to hit and field. All the Botts apologists make me fucking sick. Hopefully he goes and sits on the bench for some other organization so yall can go complain about somebody else taking playing time away from your precious Jason Botts.

Thank you & I agree with every word!
Botts has gotten more ‘ink’ than any 25th+ man in the history of baseball…...he couldn’t hardly ‘stand’ in the OF, and ole’d a couple of balls at first that almost hit him…....give me a f#cking break!!! He sucks!!! Cruz is still the better prospect(?), he’s gone down to AAA and Botts his way around there, mauling AAA pitching…....and guess what? He can stand in the OF without hurting himself, and actually play OF pretty well.!!!
Doubt we have to worry about Botts becoming the next Travis Hafner or Sammy Sosa!

I don't understand...
how you can say Botts has had his shot and sucks, but Cruz should get another shot. Cruz has got more of a shot than Botts ever will. They have both destroyed AAA pitching. Is it just because of his defense. Cruz has more MLB AB’s than Botts. I don’t get that argument.

You've got to admit
it’s hard to keep up with 3 separate diaries, 2 of which have more than 80 replies.

im still trying to figure out why AJM doesnt promote diaries and add commentary so we dont have diary upon diary of redundant crap. but hey….

Actually
the story on the front page is promoted from the first diary, which was posted before Beverly’s.

Well,
jamcadbury’s diary may have dominated on the sidebar, but let’s see how it does in the bigtime. If it doesn’t produce, cut bait and promote the veteran Beverly (though I have doubts about her commitment to winning with this organization.)
...and curse Sir Walter Raleigh, he was such a stupid git.

botts
just became one of my favorite players.
im glad he said that. I can sorta relate spending what seems like year after year on the junior varsity and not even getting a second look from managers or in my case coaches. i bet you what he said there was pretty tame compared to what was going on in his mind.
one day during practice the jv scrimmaged the varsity and a varsity assistant coach was laughing and calling the JV players ridicoulous names. so i called him a dick and told him he was a stupid coach.
i ran 40 poles… but it was worth it as he stopped is shit.
so kudo’s to bottsy and i will be rooting for him no matter where he ends up.
also didnt ryan howard not even make it to the majors until he was 28 or something
touchdown... touchdown... and st.micheals takes the lead.

What does you not being able to make the Varsity......
have to do with Jason Botts? Are you the ‘fix-a-flat’ and Botts is the ‘spare’? or vice versa?

botts apologists are fuckin stupid
i dont care if he gets one at bat every two weeks. a DH with a career OPS way below 700 in the at bats he has had is horrible.
