Click the link above to get inside Avery's head. This guy is as dense as Josh Howard when it comes to seeing the light. Avery seems to be tha last person on earth who would ever own up to his own mistakes. It is ALWAYS the players fault in Avery's mind.
2 questions:
1- If someone hires Avery does Mark get any of his $12 mil back,
2- How in the hell is this the first place i've seen Avery quotes?

Funny.
Mannix from SI.com suspects Coach K might be on Cuban’s shortlist. Doubtful.

Why would any good coach leave a power college?
As the head coach of a good college program you can control all facets of your team. A good coach in a good position can ensure that his team always has one of the most talented rosters in their sporting universe (as opposed to relying on things like your GM and FA and the salary cap and the draft), and they actually have the power to exert some control over the players.
Why the hell would any good coach at a power program ever leave?
The answer is of course: Money.
But Coach K gets a ton of money already, so I doubt he gets swayed. He’s not going anywhere.

Is that a serious question?
Donnie has been put in the basement while Avery has been here. Donnie is a smart guy, he just hasn’t been able to voice his opinions with two control freaks here. Avery and Cuban.
I love Miley Cyrus.
+1
donnie nelson is a damn good NBA exec.

Even then
you’re at the whim of the draft and the salary cap as far as which players you can get.
As coach at a Duke/UCLA/UNC/Kanas-type school you can go after any player you want, and have a pretty darn good chance at getting them.
If you play your cards right you have the power to give yourself a perpetually powerful team with enough talent to have a realistic shot at winning it all.
You’re never at the whim of, say, lottery balls.

Okay
someone needs to explain to me where this Avery Johnson wanted Jason Kidd and NOT Devin Harris stuff came from…anyone?
just got ownaged
Is that a joke?
He didn’t like Harris, and he didn’t trust him running the team.
Self explanatory…
I love Miley Cyrus.
heh
” Devin Harris, who’s like my son – those guys were awfully good to me”regarding kidd trade:
“The organization made a decision and you gotta live with the result,” he said. “I am not pointing the finger at Jason Kidd.”

yeah "like a son"
you constantly tell your son what to do, and if he doesnt do it you take away the keys to the car (play calling) and ground him (send him to NJ)
sounds about right to me…

Ok...
Avery is taking the blame off of him, is that really surprising?
If Harris was really like a son, he would have had more faith in him.
I love Miley Cyrus.

you know
somebody could write a psychology paper on the sharky phenomenon. miles is solidly on the path to becoming sharky. the similarities are uncanny. he’s already delusional, posts more of his completely untrue predictions, and now we have the allegiance to the starlet.

miles is just mildly delusional
not bat-shit-crazy delusional like Sharky…

maybe
not “wrong” per se, but certainly self-aggrandizing and a complete deflection of all blame

Well what do you expect?
He’s looking for a job right now. He’s not gonna come out and speak the truth about how he sucks at coaching when as of this very second he’s now actively searching for another team to pay him cash money to coach and to talk in his funny voice at post-game press conferences.
“I got ownershipped by Pat Riley, then got myself ownershipped even worse by Don Nelson… then I screwed up this year’s team so bad we ownershipped our own damn selves. (Pause.) Oh, and if any GM out there is looking for a coach next year- Call me!”

more folly....
Avery Johnson made an appearance on ESPN 103.3 this afternoon and was asked for his thoughts on the Jason Kidd trade.
“Right now, first of all, I think it would be an injustice to Mark Cuban, Donnie Nelson, Keith Grant and everybody in that organization,” Avery said of answering that question. “It would be an injustice to Jason Kidd, my son, Devin Harris, who was like a son to me, I don’t want to drag their names through any mud slinging. Whatever happened, it happened, and now we just all have to move forward.”

AJ is a fraud...
pretending like he had nothing to do with the Kidd trade. Avery, we aren’t idiots. It was just a while ago you were crying at the press conference exclaiming how happy you were to finally have a “quarterback”.
