Yes, the Red Headed Stranger and the pride of Abbott, TX turned 75 today. If I live as long as he, i hope to have a good time just like he has. Except for owing $16.7 mil in back taxes to the IRS and being married 4 different times. I guess that just helps make the story more interesting. Keep on rocking, old man. Its people like him that help make the world keep spinnin' around.

Conversely, what’s your problem w/ Willie? Dude’s a Texas icon. A musical genius. And I’ve never heard any stories about him being an asshole or in love with himself, even though most people who reach his status are. Plus, he’s done alot to help the little man. Now I know at Highland Park they teach you that “helping the little man” is for suckers, but come on, what’s your beef?

If you haven’t seen him live, you really need to. He puts on a hell of a show, regardless of his age. The fact that he’s 75 makes it that much more impressive.

Has he gotten over his carpal tunnel issues?

The last couple times I saw him he either couldn’t play guitar much or not at all. That was a couple years back, though.
