PrintRangers hire former President of the Baseball Hall of Fame to head up marketing efforts. Interestingly, he seems to have a lot of political ties.. perhaps he could help with the two guys being held back due to the marriage visa scam?

The Rangers on Wednesday hired former National Baseball Hall of Fame president Dale Petroskey for the newly created position of executive vice president of marketing and community development.

In 2003, he cancelled a celebration of “Bull Durham’s” 15th anniversary because Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins opposed the war in Iraq. He said

I’m not trying to start a political debate. But to say that celebrating Bull Durham (a pretty damn good baseball movie) – again, a movie – will put troops in harms way is pretty goddamn stupid.
Thank god he cancelled the Bull Durham BBQ and mantinee or else we might still be in Iraq.

...I don’t know if Hicks would endorse that action per se, but his politics certainly lean that way. He was a big booster of Giuliani’s presidential bid. That worked out well.

Bull Durham wasn’t even 1989’s best baseball movie.
That title belongs to Major League.

Anyone know how the pardon's get started?
