All I have to say is

If the offense can't score some runs off Dustin Mosely tonight, it'll be concerning.

by lonestarJon on Apr 4, 2008 8:05 PM CDT   0 recs

Please Gabbard

Make us forget about ST, or blame it on the dry air, or cold, or something. Just roll these guys,.

...it's the weekend, so why the hell not?

feldman for starter

this is going to be a weird development if he keeps on mowing down the competition and wants into the big league rotation. people don't trust him with 1 inning, they are going to trust him for 6?

by ab03 on Apr 4, 2008 8:12 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Through 6

Hitless and only 64 pitches. Still can't see how he's going to make it through.

Nerves

Right...it's gotta be nerves...huh?

Seriously, I like the kid. Just a little bump in the road.

Backup

I'd imagine the Red Sox would be smart enough to not give up anything of significance for Gerald Laird.

I doubt that they would

want to deal with the Rangers after the Gagne trade.

Well I mean I would take him

I'd prefer Masterson though. We don't have as much of a need for Lowrie but up goes the cash considerations if they make us take him.

Torii Hunter has been a slight disappointment so far.

According to mjh, he throws some serious lefty gas with real good control.

Why is Bradley still #5?

We've got to move him to cleanup sometime. How long are we going to be waiting for him to "get his swing back"?

by lonestarJon on Apr 4, 2008 8:24 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

So Jason Botts is just never going to play

ever.

Thanks, Wash.

who would you sub him for

murphy? I don't know why i asked, that's really the only option.

anyway, I think botts gets a taste either when bradley can play the field or, more likely, in a day game after a night game.

but he is the 25th man on the roster, more so than vasquez. we should all just accept that

+1

But at least tonight we're facing a righty. If we start Bromide against another lefty this season, I'm gonna light a kitten on fire and throw it at Ron Washington as he leaves the stadium after the game.* Nothing is more didactic than a fiery kitten to the face.

*-Or at least I would if I lived in Texas.

yeah

because I'm pretty sure he's going to start Ben against a lefty again. more than once.

by ab03 on Apr 4, 2008 8:39 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I would snub Byrd for Botts

And bring Byrd in as a late-inning replacement.

Botts badly needs to get some playing time - he's sat on the bench for 4 straight games now, plus an off-day.

by lonestarJon on Apr 4, 2008 8:36 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

25th men do that

there are weeks when a 25th man will never see the field. and most 25th men can actually offer PR or defensive abilities. when all you are doing is PH'ng, you have to wait until someone gets tired. And that someone can only be a LF or a 1B.

by ab03 on Apr 4, 2008 8:40 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

i wish he would at least get a pinch hit chance

one of these games.

hopefully for laird late in this game.

I'm not sure what it takes

for a player to suck his way out of a lineup, if Gerry's performance last season didn't do the trick.

GO RANGERS!!

Don't forget Big Daddy Vladdy enjoys having Rangers for snacks.

I guarandamntee you that if you tried to bounce a few chocolate bars by Gerald Laird he would block every one of them.

The perfect game is over

Feldman hit a batter.

He got a GIDP, though, so he's still faced the minimum thru 5 IP.

But he hit a batter, so DFA his azz, I guess.
