Hopefully

Milton Bradley for MVP

Sigh

I get to stay home and listen to the gameday audio, because my buddy who was gonna get me tickets bailed, and the game is once again on FSN.

Oh well... looks like I have to sit here and talk with you sclubs all game long... I guess there are worse alternatives. ;)

by lonestarJon on Apr 5, 2008 7:55 PM CDT   0 recs

jered

I keep thinking the league is going to figure out that funky delivery. His stuff has never been all that impressive and I just can't see him being a sub-4 guy forever.

Maybe tonight is the start of his sudden plummeting to earth.

Weaver

If he stays healthy, he'll probably end up a #3/#4 type, I imagine...although there are concerns about him staying healthy...

by Adam J. Morris on Apr 5, 2008 7:57 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Have you seen him pitch?

His locate is great. I was watching the game in ST were he was dealing against us. His location in that game was pin-point.

by coolaid on Apr 5, 2008 7:58 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

yeah I've watched him

otherwise I probably wouldn't comment about his stuff.

High eighties fastball and no impressive breaking pitches.

Pedro: "I wasn't cockfighting, I just have a wide stance."

by tricer on Apr 5, 2008 7:59 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

High eighties?

It between 91-94 most of the times

his average FB velocity was 89.1 last season

I love that fangraphs feature. Scroll the the bottom.

Pedro: "I wasn't cockfighting, I just have a wide stance."

by tricer on Apr 5, 2008 8:07 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I think he will be right around 4.0

for the next 5 years.

deception + decent control + average stuff is plenty.

by DSheppard on Apr 5, 2008 7:59 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

still waiting

for Laird to increase his trade value. I guess we'll have to wait a while longer, considering that his batting average currently starts with a zero.

Pedro: "I wasn't cockfighting, I just have a wide stance."

by tricer on Apr 5, 2008 8:00 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

youve got it all wrong

his value has doubled. i believe my signature explains it.

by DSheppard on Apr 5, 2008 8:03 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Alfonso Soriano is hitting .048

Relax. It isn't even a week into the season.

by Adam J. Morris on Apr 5, 2008 8:05 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Alfonso Soriano

Doesn't have a rep as a shitty hitter.

by lonestarJon on Apr 5, 2008 8:07 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I know, but

the line about batting average starting with zero gave me a little chuckle.

Pedro: "I wasn't cockfighting, I just have a wide stance."

putting in the call for Bank

best...avatar...ever

Scarlett Johansson is the most beautiful woman on the planet.

by Butters on Apr 5, 2008 8:00 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

She's great

but I wouldn't say the most beautiful woman on the planet. Jessica Alba is still the best there is.

by Gdawg1 on Apr 5, 2008 8:05 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Alba is great and all...

but she doesn't have the lips nor the chi-chi's that Scarlett has.

by Butters on Apr 5, 2008 8:10 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

don't care about her lips

She's got the perfect smile. And her chi-chi's are just fine (LOL on that phrase btw).

by Gdawg1 on Apr 5, 2008 8:11 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Girls Gone Wild

FSN on charter in Denton just ran a Girls Gone Wild commercial. that has to be a mistake on their part. This is a family-oriented team.

by phatjeremy on Apr 5, 2008 8:08 PM CDT   0 recs

Don't know Johansson or Alba

but my guess is that none of us have seen, nor ever will see, the most beautiful woman on the planet. She probably lives in Haiti, or Mozambique, or Laos.

by BxRanger on Apr 5, 2008 8:08 PM CDT   0 recs

nope

its Alba.

by Gdawg1 on Apr 5, 2008 8:09 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I hear what you're saying...

but I think she'd be from Sweden or Russia.

by Butters on Apr 5, 2008 8:12 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Hammy HR here???

I think he can do it.

by Gdawg1 on Apr 5, 2008 8:11 PM CDT   0 recs

Brandon Boggs

Playing LF for Oklahoma today.

Weird. Ellison in CF, Mench in RF.

by Adam J. Morris on Apr 5, 2008 8:11 PM CDT   0 recs

yeah, I noticed that

buried him at eighth in the order while Ellison leads off.

Pedro: "I wasn't cockfighting, I just have a wide stance."

Hamilton

he's so god damned good.

by cmkelly29 on Apr 5, 2008 8:12 PM CDT   0 recs

whoops

3 xbh's in a row. he had a triple last night

by ab03 on Apr 5, 2008 8:13 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Heh

What's an extra base between Josh Hamilton fans?

by lonestarJon on Apr 5, 2008 8:13 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Hamilton opposite field hit...

*sigh* It was fun at first, but I'm starting to get bored of him constantly doing that for extra bases :)

by Gdawg1 on Apr 5, 2008 8:12 PM CDT   0 recs

opposite field doubles on fastballs

pulled 450 foot hrs on offspeed.

ill take it.

although i didnt see what that pitch was.

by DSheppard on Apr 5, 2008 8:14 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I'm putting in my call here...

not my HR call but my BB call.

by Butters on Apr 5, 2008 8:13 PM CDT   0 recs

Jered Weaver

reminds of the baseball-playing soon-to-be-Freshman kid from Dazed and Confused.

by cmkelly29 on Apr 5, 2008 8:15 PM CDT   0 recs

Crap

Maybe Bradley ain't ready to clean up after all. Not against right-handers, anyway.

by lonestarJon on Apr 5, 2008 8:15 PM CDT   0 recs

Well...

...he's hitting righties better than lefties so far in this very brief season.

by Adam J. Morris on Apr 5, 2008 8:17 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Tom Grieve

is his mic down or is Josh just really loud tonought

by phatjeremy on Apr 5, 2008 8:18 PM CDT   0 recs

switching between the final four and FSN

is ridiculous....can't hear grieve so I turn it up, and I get blasted out by bill packer...ahhhh

by Dirk Diggler on Apr 5, 2008 8:47 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

sound

the entire audio package is quiet tonight. but grieve is barely audible.
fsn sw usually has pretty bad sound (same for kdfi usually too)

Millwood..

maybe it's me, but I don't see the weight-loss.

by cmkelly29 on Apr 5, 2008 8:18 PM CDT   0 recs

Skinny Millwood ...

I'm liking that guy so far.

by Athos on Apr 5, 2008 8:18 PM CDT   0 recs

So I'm wondering

Who the late-game defensive sub will be for Bradley tonight... Botts or Crapalanotto?

by lonestarJon on Apr 5, 2008 8:20 PM CDT   0 recs

Botts and Cat as defensive subs?

That's like saying a watermelon is a musical instrument

Kansas is beating UNC 28-10 right now. Wow.

Byrd sucks

righty-lefty thing

by coolaid on Apr 5, 2008 8:27 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

i figured

but we are facing a righty, and murphy can hit lefties a bit anyway. i think thats overthinking the lineup.
