Speaking of
crappy announcers and FJM, at the beginning of the CWS-DET game, Joe Morgan declares that Guillen will win the Gold Glove at 1B. He then proceeds to let a grounder go under his glove (ruled a hit) and dropped an easy throw from Crede which led to 5 unearned runs.

thanks
I knew it was the left side, but I was guessing between Crede and Cabrera

oops
I was thinking of the White Sox left side

Cabrea
is sporting a .133 BA, hope he isn't becoming lazy because of that LARGE garenteed contract...
"He throws that curveball so hard and it snaps 12 to six like you've never seen." - Matt Kemp on Clayton Kershaw
not to mention
cabrea.
although i guess thats a typo and not a spelling mistake.
Gerald Laird is my hero.

trying to bunt
with two men on and no outs.
so effing stupid. my baseball coach does it. he also says shit like "we need to play the game the way it was meant to be played"
just stupidity
touchdown... touchdown... and st.micheals takes the lead.
i still
in High school baseball dont see the point of giving away free outs. espicially since half the time the lead runner gets thrown out at third anyway
touchdown... touchdown... and st.micheals takes the lead.
Anytime
you make high school kids handle the baseball. It is a good thing. It's a much better play in high school than it is at the big league level.

Did you
have to drop spelling to fit baseball into your schedule? Our nation is in trouble.
Ephesians 1:3-10
Haha
You should be more worried about people like me.
But anyway, I saw a stat today that was pretty interesting. 100% of of college graduates in India know English, and I think it also said that more people in China know English than in the U.S. That might be expected since their population is so large, but still...
But with people like Bill Gates trying to get more visa's for foreigners into the country to take jobs away, this country is...screwed.

Great
miles has watched another nutjob videotape.
At least you've dropped the "you don't have to pay income tax/we should be on the gold standard" schtick.

Also
This:
But with people like Bill Gates trying to get more visa's for foreigners into the country to take jobs away, this country is...screwed.
is asinine. Like Ruddy Yan being a beast level asinine.

he's not completely incorrect
it should read:
But with people like Bill Gates trying to get more visa's for foreigners into the country to take jobs away, I, and all of the other illiterates like me, are screwed.

Obvious solution:
Learn english.
Also, possibly, stop blaming successful people for your problems. But let's just start with "Learn English."
Who is he watching?

well I would guess
someone being a tool is just a general insult of being a fool or whatever.
so being a toolshed is the next step up i suppose.
Gerald Laird is my hero.
and he is their
team announcer?
" Winning doesn't always mean being first,
winning means you are doing better than you have done before"
color guy...
...if that kind of commentary is coming from a lead, he'd be axed quickly.

Josh Lewin
might be a dork and an idiot but it better than guys like that.
" Winning doesn't always mean being first,
winning means you are doing better than you have done before"
just
saying in general. A commentator ripping on its own player.
" Winning doesn't always mean being first,
winning means you are doing better than you have done before"
Grieve ripped on John Rocker...
...a couple of years ago... when he thought they had cut to commercial.
had to apologize.
but... a color guy can get away with his criticisms a little easier than the lead. it's his job to do that... to fill in the blanks.

I think that was Irabu
When he said that he couldn't have thrown b.p. better than that...

no.
it was Rocker. road game at Anaheim.
that guy pissed everybody off...

whoops...
...holy hell... you were right, Morris.
i could have sworn it was Rocker.
but, that might have been me yelling at my T.V.

Heh
How were you able to check if he was right?

Googled it...
...man... i could have sworn it was Rocker. that guy couldn't save a game to save his life.
i wonder if these reports misidentified the pitcher.
by oc on Apr 6, 2008 11:06 PM CDT up reply actions
I remember that happening multiple times
not necessarily with Grieve but other announcers getting mad that a pitcher is just throwing B.P.
scap load or die
doesnt have a problem ripping fans though
dont go after a foul ball in the presence of t. grieve =p
Gerald Laird is my hero.
Grieve
he used to rip Netman nightly, didn't he?
I think he finally caved on that one though, once it appeared that Netman was a fixture.

i think he was fine with it
when he saw that net man started giving the baseballs away to other people

I remember
watching the game that night the youth minister practically clobbered the little kid to get to a ball, and then wouldn't give it up in exchange for a bunch of other stuff offered by the booth. TAG was livid through that whole exchange.
Sometimes Our guys are pretty dorky. Aside from the times TAG goes off on some story and talks straight through an important play or the end of an inning, I wouldn't trade them for many other TV teams out there.
that dude is gold.
as far as i'm concerned, our TV and radio crews are the best in baseball.

That
was awesome. I cannot stand Jeff Brantley. Was that not the ESPN broadcast? I thought both of those guys were the ESPN B or C team?
Ephesians 1:3-10
the play-by-play guy is a C-teamer for Fox...
...and i thought Brantley was a studio analyst for Baseball Tonight?
by oc on Apr 6, 2008 11:30 PM CDT up reply actions
Brantley...
ESPN let him go I think. He now does Fox stuff in Cincy.

it's funny
people are focusing on brantley questioning Encarnacion but isn't it funny how the announcer questioned Baker for trying to bunt with encarnacion...and then technically being proven right? Of course, the announcer did it with more tact, but if Encarnacion had struck out after wasting his first two strikes, maybe the announcer gets a little bit more perturbed.
scap load or die
ha
That is greatness.
