Tuesday morning things
The Rangers have weathered the opening swing through Seattle and Anaheim and are ready for the home opener, weather permitting.
Jason Jennings gets the start, and he's looking to establish himself in Arlington. He's the only starter who has failed to make a quality start through six games, and with Kevin Millwood's and Vicente Padilla's early form, Jennings could make this rotation appear pretty stable with a good April.
As previously announced, Ben Broussard will be making another start against a lefty. I'm ready for Jason Botts to start getting some looks in that spot.
TR Sullivan has a mail bag up with Salty/Laird and Luis Mendoza as prime topics.
Adam and Jamey Newberg have recorded another podcast that can be found here and here
And Tom Hicks has chosen to watch his Rangers and their opening "match" rather than Liverpool's beloved Reds in the second leg of their big Champions League Quarterfinal versus Arsenal at Anfield. I support your decision Tom.

Oh and
I know that I totally sucked on the podcast. Be gentle. I was thrown by the first couple of questions (maybe/hopefully he edited them out) and...didn't come up with much of a response. Let's just call me Brantley Jr and be done with it, okay?
OT: Harden
has been scratched from his start. Supposedly it's minor, but any injury and Rich Harden is bad news for the A's.
Botts
How sure are we that he can handle first base? I know his defense is bad, but there was also talk last year that back issues prevented him from playing there. I imagine that's the main reason Broussard is getting the starts against lefties.
But that river of tears has dried for all of us.
Supposedly Wash was quite impressed w/ his progress at 1st
Rex Hudler is in demand as a motivational speaker.
If Wash can...
help turn Chavez into a gold glove 3B he can help make Botts a adequate 1B.

Botts
Do you really expect him to get the start on the home opener when Broussard is our hottest hitter?
Whoops, sorry about that
Broussard isn't out hottest hitter. That would be Murphy. Bromide Ben has hit a bunch of critical home runs lately, but he hasn't done squat otherwise.
Regardless of whether or not it was the home opener, Broussard should not be starting against lefties this season. He just can't hit them. The home crowd will get plenty of chances to see him play this season - Botts hasn't played yet, and sould be playing vs. LHP, home opener or no.
Banner day
If not for Clinton's first game rainout, we'd have Holland, Hunter, Harrison, and Hurley all going the same schedule.
The 4-H Club?
Sorry (it is better than DVD, though). As it is we get the latter three at once, not bad not bad.
Go Strangers.
Podcast
The discussion of the catching situation about 40 minutes in is excellent. Adam gives a good summary of the options the team has over the next few months.
