4/9 minors
Lots of day games.
Redhawks are about to get rained out, but AJ has been great, going head-to-head with Yovanni Gallardo. AJ has used 29 pitches to get through 3 innings, including 2 Ks.
Bakersfield and Clinton have day games with Clinton playing a make-up for yesterday's snow out.
Clinton probables: Holland, Reed
Bakersfield probable: Zach
So the word limit is 75 words. I'd have to say Cristian Santana, Evan Reed, Derek Holland, and Tommy Hunter may be looking at promotions by mid-season.

AJ, 33 pitches, 4 IP, 4 K, 0 BB, 0 H
It would be a shame to have this game called due to rain.

For the severe storm lovers out there....
The Storm Prediction Center is forecasting much more interesting weather south of OKC. So, from Dallas out to Wichita and down to Abiline, look out.

About to hit OKC
Looks pretty heavy, so the Nashville/Oklahoma game may not last too much longer.

Yeah, moderate risk area
Potential for devastating long-track tornadoes through north Texas this afternoon. The worst should hopefully go north and west of the Metroplex, but this could evolve into a life-threatening situation if things break the wrong way.
There's a decent possibility tonight's Rangers game will be called.
OKC game is going to be called any time now. There's not going to be a break in the precipitation for a long time.
So, stay by the Ticket for further weather updates - and kids, please, do not jar.

John Whittleman
probably a good candidate for a callup by mid-season too.

and of course,
Teagarden assuming something happens with the Laird/Salty situation this summer. I think Harrison is a good bet to move up in late summer.

I think
that Harrison will probably move up once the John Patterson/Sidney Ponson experiment ends.

Taylor
I ight want to see him play behind the plate for 3-4 consecutive days a few times before he gets promoted.

I don't think Teagarden will get to do that much until he gets promoted since he's sharing with Max.

Why not
He is clearly ahead of Max in the organization. When a spot in OKC opens up it will be him getting the call. Ramirez is a great hitter and the question about Teagarden is if he is fully recovered from his injuries and can handle being a fulltime catcher. I would rather find out sooner than later and having him catch every other day is not answering that question. I just saw an excerpt from yesterdays pregame show where Teagarden was interviewed and he said he wants to show he can catch 90-100 games. What the hell. Thats only every other game basically. Is he admitting he won't be able to catch everyday already? This is why I hate hearing people who say he will be the next catcher for us and Salty will have to switch positions when right now he can't catch everyday. If it was me I would make MaxRam the DH and have Tea catch 5 days a week at least. Ramirez will get plenty of time to catch once Tea gets promoted.

I don't disagree with you, but
they are not going to have Max just DH 5 days a week, it's just not going to happen. It would not surprise me, however, to see him getting the nod more and more often as the season progresses. It's a long season and I'm not too worried about Teagarden getting enough time behind the plate. They can afford to bring him along slowly.

Murray
60 pitches through 6 IP. looks like a repeat of Jennings yesterday.

Tarp time in OKC
Judging from the radar, this one's likely over.

Nothing cheap about this one
Gallardo was very good, but the Redhawks were able to string a couple of hits together. A.J. was extremely efficient, and Salty had both the key RBIs and a pickoff of a runner on second to stop a threat in the 5th.
I know what you mean, though.

Clinton delayed till about 230
per the nice old lady on KROS. She's talking about cuts of brisket.
It's clear in Appleton, but only 37.

Phillips.... 6K in 3 IP, but 1 HR.
He's down 1-0, beginning the 4th.
He's going against a top-10 guy from the Athletics farm, Henry Alberto Rodriguez.

Richard Durrett AA Notes
• Matt Harrison said he's focused on making his slider better. The lefty started last season working on the pitch, which he said he's still not quite comfortable throwing in various situations.
• C Taylor Teagarden said his wrist is fine..... [Tea on]Warner Madrigal as the closer. "He's got a hard slider and throws in the mid 90s," Teagarden said. "He's blowing guys away."
• 1B Chris Davis has started the season well. He's working on his footwork at first base and said additional cardio work in the off-season is helping. "If I can get to the play, I can make the play," Davis said. "It's when I'm late that things happen."

Davis
If he can reach the goals he set for himself this year like he did last year he will be in Arlington in September if not sooner

I really
wish one of his goal was not to strike out 200 times and walk more than 100 times.

Goals
If he is hitting .330 with 45 homers and 130 rbi I can overlook a strikeout a game

His goals
Thats what he has set for himself. Just FYI last year he said his goals were .300/30/100. Well he put up .297/36/118. So like I said if he achieves the goals he has personally set for himself I can handle a strikeout a game

You do
realize that no major league player had those numbers. Those are very unlikely but I will be rooting for him to get those numbers.

Personal goals
Those are the numbers Davis has personally set for himself. Last year he set similar goals as I showed and with the exception of .007 BA points he made them. I don't expect Davis to reach these personal goals but if he does or even if he comes close then we will see him in Arlington and if he is putting up similar numbers I can excuse a strikeout a game for those type offensive numbers.
