Silverlight

I’m tempted to try it out. It would probably be worth eating a month subscription even if it didn’t work that well. It seems OK when looking at highlights on MLB.com, but I have no idea what a full game stream would do to me.

by MeanMr.Mustard on May 12, 2008 9:07 PM CDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

It's worked for me

Media player tended to stop to buffer and would occasionally lose the game altogether… also, the newest version, if another window came up the screen would turn black and if I moved the window with media player in it a bit, the picture would come back.

by Inkara1 on May 12, 2008 9:09 PM CDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

It's pretty good

If you can get it working immediately. Lots and lots of people having problems with it.

Following the game @ 1.2M looks great, but will leave you behind in the game as compared to the rest of the gameday thread. If that matters to you.

Depends...

on what speed you’re using.

800k seems to be real time.

by cmkelly29 on May 12, 2008 9:13 PM CDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I'm on 400K

Too cheap to get 800K or 1.2M and my DSL seems to be not so great… although with silverlight being smoother, maybe it would be worth the upgrade now.

by Inkara1 on May 12, 2008 9:14 PM CDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

At this point

I just want to be able to see or hear the games. Delays aren’t really a big deal to me.

Like I said, Silverlight’s worked OK for me on the freebie highlight vids, so I hopefully wouldn’t experience the issues you’re referring to.

two things about that play
1 it wasn’t a good bunt 2 it was Chris Shelton running

either one of those things not in the equation and it would have worked

Maybe, just maybe, if the starter gives up a bunch of runs in the first inning and then recovers to throw four scoreless… DON’T SEND HIM OUT FOR THE SIXTH.

I don't mind

You have to try and spare your bullpen any time you can have your starter go out and pitch an extra inning. As long as someone is ready to go at the first sign of trouble, I can live with that decision.

Then there’s the issue of safety. About 8.7 million residents live in the state and many of them, including more than one million senior citizens, have little experience in pumping gas. Assemblyman Francis L. Bodine® said this is one reason he’s opposed to the idea. Plus, “If I’m dressed up, I don’t want to get out and smell like a gas pump,” said Bodine, who represents the Mount Laurel area near Philadelphia.

Thing for me is...

I’m very specific about how I do my gas. I pump on the slowest setting the pump will do, and once it clicks off the first time, I do two more clicks. My guess is the gas station attendant will have it pump as fast as it can (sending more vapor back into the station’s tank) and not top it off at all.

How about

bunting for an inside the park home run?

by Gdawg on May 12, 2008 9:50 PM CDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Geez

Having Shelton bunt so that Duran and Vazquez can try to drive him in.

I’d rather have taken my chances with Shelton.

I think that may have been the dumbest bunt call by Wash in his entire tenure here

Hopefully it works out, but god, that’s annoying.

I HATE sacrifice bunts

Most annoying part of having Wash as manager…...

a wild pitch and then a squeeze bunt by Duran.

I hate giving up outs

and doing it with your 8 & 9 batters coming up just isn’t the smartest thing to do…

Maybe...

Although Shelton could have hit into a DP or maybe the pressure of having OMFT on 2nd caused the walk to Duran?

it isn't official

but when it comes to pitches inside and outside, it’s pretty accurate considering the width is based on the plate size…. high and low, there’s probably some room for error..
