Padilla now eligable for a win, if we can get some insurance and hang on...

has every game thus far had at least two game day threads?

Grieve: The Yanks have struggled so far. - Lewin: Yeah, cry me a bag of money.

by WhipSmart on May 12, 2008 9:06 PM CDT   0 recs

I believe so....

Naw, we've had a couple games that have had just one thread

Mid week day games

Silverlight

I’m tempted to try it out. It would probably be worth eating a month subscription even if it didn’t work that well. It seems OK when looking at highlights on MLB.com, but I have no idea what a full game stream would do to me.

by MeanMr.Mustard on May 12, 2008 9:07 PM CDT   0 recs

It's worked for me

Media player tended to stop to buffer and would occasionally lose the game altogether… also, the newest version, if another window came up the screen would turn black and if I moved the window with media player in it a bit, the picture would come back.

by Inkara1 on May 12, 2008 9:09 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

It's pretty good

If you can get it working immediately. Lots and lots of people having problems with it.

Following the game @ 1.2M looks great, but will leave you behind in the game as compared to the rest of the gameday thread. If that matters to you.

by cmkelly29 on May 12, 2008 9:10 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Depends...

on what speed you’re using.

800k seems to be real time.

by cmkelly29 on May 12, 2008 9:13 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I'm on 400K

Too cheap to get 800K or 1.2M and my DSL seems to be not so great… although with silverlight being smoother, maybe it would be worth the upgrade now.

by Inkara1 on May 12, 2008 9:14 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

At this point

I just want to be able to see or hear the games. Delays aren’t really a big deal to me.

Like I said, Silverlight’s worked OK for me on the freebie highlight vids, so I hopefully wouldn’t experience the issues you’re referring to.

Missouri, for now

But I’m working in Illinois this summer.

by MeanMr.Mustard on May 12, 2008 9:34 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

two things about that play
1 it wasn’t a good bunt 2 it was Chris Shelton running

either one of those things not in the equation and it would have worked

Grieve: The Yanks have struggled so far. - Lewin: Yeah, cry me a bag of money.

by WhipSmart on May 12, 2008 9:10 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Doubtful

But it’d be nice.

One of the worst things ever

Is hearing a manager say he likes small ball

you know they’re just being nice.

I 'd rather hear nails on a chalkboard....

Hey, I've got a great idea

Why don’t we bunt with Vazquez, too?

by lonestarJon on May 12, 2008 9:09 PM CDT   0 recs

because

the Rangers would find a way to bunt into a double play

pretty sure he was

Those two are working real well

for the Stars right now. ;)

by rcreative on May 12, 2008 9:14 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Actually

those are okay, mainly because they bring so much unintentional humor with them

Mergatroid

This game is only in the 5th inning?

Man on 3rd

less than 2 outs, get him home or you don’t deserve to win

we don’t deserve to win, but hopefully we still do

why not mlb gameday?

It has highlight reels so u can see big plays like hambones crush

by mchang4 on May 12, 2008 9:19 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Yeah, but it takes up some serious bandwidth

It’s got a lot of great info, but I actually can’t run the gameday, TVants, and MLB audio all at the same time.

by lonestarJon on May 12, 2008 9:21 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I'm starting to think

Maybe, just maybe, if the starter gives up a bunch of runs in the first inning and then recovers to throw four scoreless… DON’T SEND HIM OUT FOR THE SIXTH.

by Inkara1 on May 12, 2008 9:18 PM CDT   0 recs

BP is

shot dude, gotta do it.

by lonestarJon on May 12, 2008 9:19 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I don't mind

You have to try and spare your bullpen any time you can have your starter go out and pitch an extra inning. As long as someone is ready to go at the first sign of trouble, I can live with that decision.

by Gdawg1 on May 12, 2008 9:20 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Isn't it your thing

to yank the pitcher in the 1st?

by Randy Richardson on May 12, 2008 9:24 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Only if he gives up 2 runs before his first out...

I can’t remember now… did Padilla give up 2 before his first out?

by Inkara1 on May 12, 2008 9:25 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I have mlb.tv

But on TV it’s live – and I hardly ever get the chance to watch a live game!

by RachelB on May 12, 2008 9:22 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

My problem is I live in Angels/Dodgers territory

I get to hear Vin Scully, true… but I also “get” to hear Rex Hudler.

by Inkara1 on May 12, 2008 9:23 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Kinda like

Josh Howard?

They've replayed it

almost as much as the station replays their playlist.

I like the merger idea, and thus getting both MLB and NFL, as long as the prices don’t rise
