How old is Elvis?
Went to the Missions/Hooks game last night. Free tickets from little sis. Not much to report about the game but after the game we grabbed a beer and some wings with one of the Hooks. I was giving him crap about giving Frisco a hard time and he said the oddest thing. He said no way Elvis is as young as he says he is. I said "how's that?"
He said after one of the games this past weekend a few of the guys from both teams went out for beers. Elvis was there, bellied up to the bar, showed an ID, and got a beer. They started giving him crap about it, asking whether he used his passport or a fake and he said," No I am really 21" and something to the extent of you know how we do it down there.
I didn't press the subject or talk about it any further with him. I just find it odd that I mentioned I follow Frisco and that was the first thing he chose to mention.
Anyway, thought ya'll would want to know.

Is he Dominican?
Because there are many well known cases of them forging birth certificates, lying about their age, etc. etc. Soriano, Tejada are two examples, and if you think Guerrero is the age he says he is (32?), you’re nuts.

I'll go out on a limb
and assume Elvis doesn’t wave that information around. Y’know, cause it might alter the course of his entire pro baseball career.
Yeah, I’ll take the baseball career over buying beer in public if I’m Andrus.

More likely
He realized that Fake ID + reputation for Latin players being older than they really are = beer while young…

Exactly
Why would a guy, after using an ID and while still drinking a beer in the same bar, say anything other than “I am really 21.” Of course he was lying.

Exactly...
anyone who has ever used a fake in their life would never sit there in a bar and say “No I’m not really 21” when asked.

Agreed
It just seems like no one would just throw that out there nonchalantly. If that were true he’d be incredibly stupid not to do everything in his power to keep it secret.
...and curse Sir Walter Raleigh, he was such a stupid git.

If he has a non fake ID
that says he is older than 21 the Rangers would know.

No More
Well, I am sure if he has a fake ID that he will not be using it anymore in public. You just threw the young man under the bus. I am sure the Rangers will be telling him not to drink in public. Weren’t you 19 once and use a fake ID. Let the kid have a beer!!

yeah I feel ya and that was not my intention,
Ive got no problem with him having a beer. My issue is I think he’s old enough to have a beer. A 21 year old putting up #’s in AA like his is a little less spectacular than an 18 year old doing it. A 21 year olds defense should be better than the same kid at 18 years of age. Adam, I’m fine with you yanking this post if you want, I wasn’t attempting to throw him under the bus, just post that I have my doubts he’s as young as he says he is now.

I don't doubt that's the story you heard...
but having a state or federal ID that says you’re 21 pretty much says to any organization that you’re 21.
If the government knows, the Rangers would know.
It’s a fake-ID.

All this is, is a case of HATERADE!
This is simply that guy going “Wow, a 18 year old kid is better now than I ever will be at any point in my career”
So naturally they grasp and look for any exuse to bring him down. SHAKE THEM HATERS OFF YOU ELVIS.

Corbs...
I think you may be on to something…
I would not be surprised if he really was alot older than he says.
