Did you see the play?

The ball was hit right to him and he ran forward. It was his fault.

by cmkelly29 on May 14, 2008 5:16 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Yeah. That was all on Hamilton.

As much as I like Hambone and as much as I’d like to blame his boneheaded play on somebody else, he came in on a ball over his head and then couldn’t recover in time to catch it.

Well crap.

Still, they’re playing pretty good baseball. If they can keep winning series, they’re going to be just fine.

I blame you for the loss.

Not enough turtles

I stop posting turtles and we lose. Need to find something for piching…

Turtles get runners on…. What get batters out?

We need

Hank back. That’d be great.

Still

12-9 against the AL West isn’t too shabby…

Something Interesting

I think Victor said this on the radio, but this ended the Rangers stretch where they had to play 36 games in 37 days. If you had told me that we would have gone 17-19 over those 36 games, I wouldve been pretty happy, which I’m sure most of you guys are…

not bad

im happy overall, but in a severe post game depression that may last for a couple hours.

i was hyped by the little bit of excitement around the rangers climbing back up.

Is it just me or

have we lose more than a couple of games where we had the chance to sweep the other team

by coolaid on May 14, 2008 5:00 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

That's why sweeps don't happen all the time.

Hard to beat a team 3 times in 3 days usually. Same with how it’s not often you sweep a doubleheader

y'all have got to watch the highlight of the catch manny made today against the O's

He went up against the wall, caught the ball, then gave a fan a high 5, and turned around and doubled a guy off at 1st. Not kidding

The good news from today:

- Feldman had another great outing.
- Doug Mathis was good again.
- Salty is becoming a Milton Bradley mini-me with 3 BB – means he should break out of this slump sooner or later.
- The Murphinator is back.
- Laird is still hot.

Shelton should be one of the goats.

He bunts into an inning-ending DP, and strikesout with the bases full.

I brought up Chris Davis

earlier and I’m definitely not on board with rushing someone, but we are getting shit production from 1B all friggin’ season. They are working out MaxRam at first now in case they have to bring him up and if they feel that’s the best option, then do it soon. You’ve GOT to get plate production from your corner infielders.

the bunt goes wash

he bunted it well, what else can he do when called to bunt?

the bunt should have been pulled back after they kept the runner so close to first and had the infielders so far in.

by DSheppard on May 14, 2008 5:20 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

You can never bunt a ball "well" ...

and bunt into a double play. If you bunt a ball “well” the result is either a sacrifice or a hit. He bunted the ball straight into the charging first baseman who had more than enough time to turn the double play. That’s textbook bad bunting.

by Athos on May 14, 2008 5:23 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Yeah, Grieve and his "hand-puppet" said that it was a good bunt.

I agree that he should have either pulled back or taken a full swing.
Maybe another year in AAA can add some savvy.

text book bad bunting

would be popping it up, fouling it off, or outright missing.

asking him to pinpoint place it and saying its otherwise textbook bad bunting is ridiculous.

if you didnt notice there is a guy coming in to the left, to the right, and in front of him. Where do you propose he bunt it? over their heads?

Gerald Laird is my hero.

on the positive side of the loss

they lost a game 3-4 that easily could have been won

with a worn out bullpen, no milton bradley, a starting pitcher who was not thought to be a starter till a couple of weeks ago, and with no blalock although he has been out for a while

the only thing that i want the rangers to do his start hitting with people in scoring position and 2 outs. Or trade a guy who can

You might

want to check the stats.

The Rangers scored something like 16 of 17 runs on 2 out hits recently.

...it's the weekend, so why the hell not?
