Gerald Laird is my hero.

by DSheppard on May 16, 2008 6:14 PM CDT   0 recs

Huh? You were going to go to the game and now you can’t because you knocked your mirror off?

well i could

seems kind of akward to drive a hour to the stadium and back with a mirror dangling by a wire out the window. cant get it inside the car.

i dont know, ive never broken one before. am i supposed to just keep going =p?

Gerald Laird is my hero.

by DSheppard on May 16, 2008 6:27 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I did the same thing to mine..

well actually someone drove by and knocked it off.. I epoxed it and taped it and months later its still holding strong. tape it to the side of the car so it doesn’t dangle until you have the time to epoxy it and let it dry.

I know the feeling

we arent going tonight afterall….. so now i need to find someone with an extra cj bobblehead to sell.

at least its just a sideview mirror, cant be too expensive to fix.

Bourne

The Astros have finally moved him out of the leadoff spot. He’s batting 8th tonight.

by Randy Richardson on May 16, 2008 6:28 PM CDT   0 recs

unfortunately for us.

nice to rarely have anyone on for the next batters.

(sniff, sniff)

...i smell a win, tonight.

i missed what JD said

did he give a new timeline on blalock?

Gerald Laird is my hero.

by DSheppard on May 16, 2008 6:48 PM CDT   0 recs

JD said

he hopes to send Blalock back out for a rehab assignment late next week.

injured. Rangers. pitcher.

by oc on May 16, 2008 6:53 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

hasnt started throwing yet

and wont for several weeks.
then he will have to regain strength and rehab again.

best case scenario is the all star break.

efff

Not going to bitch about the trade but its frustrating as hell.

by coolaid on May 16, 2008 6:56 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I watched Danks pitch deep into the game

vs LAA the other night. sigh – the athleticism, the focus, the competitiveness, the mound presence all blew BMac’s bag outta the water. Wonder if we’ll ever see outta BMac what J.D.’s scouts thought they’d see.

by shroomer on May 16, 2008 7:03 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Watching

Danks do that would be torture for me.

by coolaid on May 16, 2008 7:05 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

ASB

A little after, I believe.

by cmkelly29 on May 16, 2008 6:58 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Beavan

gave up 2 runs in the 1st on a triple and a HR. Does anyone know how hard he’s throwing this year? How’s that “nasty slider” looking?

by Butters on May 16, 2008 6:59 PM CDT   0 recs

So Lewin just said Berkman's production is surpassed by Hamilton.

Yeah yeah, home announcers have to be rah rah for the home team, but I still thought that was funny.

by philkid3 on May 16, 2008 7:03 PM CDT   0 recs

Well

he’s right. He has produced more runs than Berkman has…by one.

by Butters on May 16, 2008 7:06 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Wait, he was defining production as RBI?

lol

I always gave Josh more credit than that.

Rangers will do well with runners in scoring position tonight. Boggsy drives in four.

how does guardado get a save......

if we win by 4 runs??

hhmm….

by bspate on May 16, 2008 7:47 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

So, the umps had to make Ponson wait

to throw the first pitch. It’s great having a fast working pitcher.
Always wondered what it was like

by bigskinny on May 16, 2008 7:07 PM CDT   0 recs

What was that about anyways?

I heard them make some announcement about first base after that?

by cmkelly29 on May 16, 2008 7:13 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

That was

Amazing pleasure and pain wrapped up in about 2 seconds.

by brettgardner on May 16, 2008 7:10 PM CDT   0 recs

Why is Mayberry at

starting at 1b tonight? Is it a typo in the box score?

by coolaid on May 16, 2008 7:10 PM CDT   0 recs

Hey Josh

Can we lay off the ass-talk? Thanks.

Kinsler Q&A w/ Grant

Grant: The next cartoon/comic book/anime that should be turned into a full-length movie is?

Kinsler: “Have they made a He-Man movie?”

I’m disappointed.

by cmkelly29 on May 16, 2008 7:24 PM CDT   0 recs

GASP!

Somewhere Dolph Lundgren gently weeps.

by ghostofErikThompson on May 16, 2008 7:25 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Goddamn

That’s a shitty movie. If they can pretend that the first Hulk movie didn’t exist, surely they can do the same with He-Man.

Update: He-Man and the Masters of the Universe scheduled for 2009 release!

by brettgardner on May 16, 2008 7:32 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Is...

Frank Langella reprising his role of Skeletor?

Better yet, Billy Barty had better be in it!

by ghostofErikThompson on May 16, 2008 7:34 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Also...

I had a boss (ugh, a lady boss at that), that looked JUST LIKE THIS THING:

from that movie.

Horrible, man.

Hurley

gave a HR.

Whats new?

by coolaid on May 16, 2008 7:26 PM CDT   0 recs

maybe Hawkins' "pitch to contact"

mantra is being taken too literally.

That Astros guy

Just bobbled the ball and watched it get stolen by the douche with the shit-eating grin.

Sucks.

Boggsy

slump buster

by cmkelly29 on May 16, 2008 7:28 PM CDT   0 recs

i keep fearing the fall of

Brandon Boggs. Maybe it’s time to let that phobia go

by bigskinny on May 16, 2008 7:28 PM CDT   0 recs

At this pace

chacon doesnt last past the 4th. Gotta love the approack

by bigskinny on May 16, 2008 7:29 PM CDT   0 recs

With all the great pitchers that we have faced recently.

facing Chacon must be a breath of fresh air.

by Butters on May 16, 2008 7:30 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Rangers are 5-1 against Bedard/Hernandez...

Rangers are 4-2 against the A’s (best pitching staff in the AL)...

Vicente Padilla is... EL TORO!

by oc on May 16, 2008 7:33 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

very impressive

although I’d have to say that the Jays staff is better than the A’s.

by Butters on May 16, 2008 7:38 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

It's weird...

I expect this team to take a lead each game now and it just keeps on happening.

Crazy.

by ghostofErikThompson on May 16, 2008 7:31 PM CDT   0 recs

Nadel talks about this all the time...

...the Rangers have greatly outscored their opponents in the first inning this year.

last year, it was the other way around.

Vicente Padilla is... EL TORO!

by oc on May 16, 2008 7:32 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Each game seems to start the same way

with early inning runs and a lead. Exactly opposite of last season

nerd alert

can we please stop with the nerd alerts?

Y?????????

The play has nothing to do with his inspiration

by awillis111 on May 16, 2008 7:38 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

That was making

up for earlier…before I got on the GDT.

...it's the weekend, so why the hell not?

by Rodney on May 16, 2008 7:40 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

+.5

But it was the player’s that decided that their play had improve, when you would that the inspiration would come the managerial/coaching staff. Of course that is if you believe Evan Grant’s about the 4/25 players only meeting.

by awillis111 on May 16, 2008 7:47 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

the Rangers are taking more pitches per at-bat...

...and infield practice before games…

only 3 errors on that West Coast trip… in 7 games… not great, but better than what it was.

i think that’s a reflection on coaching.

Vicente Padilla is... EL TORO!

You feelin' me

oc?

I agree with the above.

...it's the weekend, so why the hell not?

by Rodney on May 16, 2008 7:52 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I still think it shows that the Players don’t respect Wash, or that he is not capable of getting them fired up. Not saying Wash is a bad coach, he is not management material.

by awillis111 on May 16, 2008 7:55 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Whats up

with Salty’s bat?

by coolaid on May 16, 2008 7:42 PM CDT   0 recs

Yeah man...

he should have started the year in AAA to get a little more seasoning̷
