OT: Stars - Is It Possible?!?!
It's hard for me to put into words how proud of the Dallas Stars I am right now. After going down 0-3 in the Western Conference Finals against the best team in the NHL, the Stars have done something nobody in their right minds saw coming, they won two games in a row - one at home, one on the road. This has closed the series to 2-3.
The Stars now come back to the AAC for Game 6 on Monday. If, and I emphasize IF, the Stars win, it will force a Game 7 in Detroit.
Is it possible that our Dallas Stars could be the third NHL team in history to come back from a 3-0 series hole?
GO STARS!!!

amazing
i hope this isn’t the same as Stars/Sharks though.

It's different in a way, though
in that they will have Game 6 at home whereas the Sharks had to face Game 6 on the road. If Turco can pull another good game out, then they have an excellent chance. At this point, who knows what might can happen. It sure has been a fun ride to watch, though.

Stars
Forget about the 0-3 deficit. This series is right where it should be. 3-2 after 5 games going back to Dallas for game 6. Unfortunately the Red Wings will come out balls to the wall on Monday. The first 10 minutes will be key. If the Stars can weather the storm so to speak they have a shot. Marty will of course have to be huge but forcing a game 7 can be done. Stars fans need to be loud from puck drop to final whistle
they can
dallas is going to have to hustle out the gate. they definitely gotta fling some crap at detroit and dictate the pace.
Zap Brannigan... you're my hero.....
For me
the story of today is how proud you have to be of those guys to come out and win that particular game. When you go down 3-0 against a team like Detroit, it’s great to go out in game four at home and display your guts and pride and avoid a sweep. But you lose game five in Detroit, period.
Winning that game feels a lot to me like 1998 when they went into game five down 3-1, made the great play to tie it at the end of regulation, and then won in OT on Langenbrunner’s fluke center ice shot on Osgood. Extending the series like that kind of gave you the feeling that they could play with the best – at their best – in the playoffs, that their goaltending and checking could hold up, and even if they can’t win two more I think that you leave this season feeling great about what they accomplished and great about things going into next season, when SJ will be all the better and Detroit will still be there, but Dallas has their stuff together more than they have in a long, long time.
I agree
The Stars are fun to watch again this year. Recent years it has seemed like they just don’t have it all together come playoff time. I was kind of worried that they had regressed to this in the first couple of games of this season, but they looked really good today
Langenbrunner
I was at that game, sitting on that end of the rink too second level behind the goal. That was an exciting moment and probably the only time i’ve ever been at a sporting event where strangers were high fiving each other.

Stars seemed to control that game most of the afternoon...
They weathered a few storms by Detroit, but survived them and only allowed that kind of fluky rebound goal by Hudler. I feel pretty good at this point about forcing a game 7, and at least after today’s win, Turco’s Detroit demons have finally been overcome on the 12th try. Unfortunately I have a night class Mon & Wed nights that starts this next week, so I’m rooting for getting out early so I can hit up the University Pub on campus to watch the remaining portion of the game.

The best thing about this is
That for the first time in 2 years, we actually have a team to cheer for this late into the season.
Stars
this was the first game since the lockout that i’ve actually sat down and watched, used to follow hockey closely but just lost the desire during the year with no hockey.
guess i picked a good time to watch

Game threads didn't work for the first 3 games of this series...
Definitely don’t want to see one for Game 6 either.

Not only that
Detroit and Pittsburgh are the two teams to blow those series. Looks like it’s Detroit’s turn again.

Somebody here knows some hockey history.
It’s like Haley’s Comet…33 years ago…preceded by the same event 33 years earlier.
Next time will be 2041.
I don't know Karate...but I know Karazy!
I'll be...
at the game on Monday.

I was

Anyone wanna place bets on who wins in a fight?
I’m going with Ben because miles won’t know who Ben is because Ben is constantly shape shifting ala his constant signups for new teams on hattrick

HT is dead to me.
DEAD.

You know...
The title of this fan shot should have been: OT: Stars- Do you believe?
Anyways, this is awesome. Toby Peterson for president.
Not the only black poster on LSB.
I think the "Believe"
motto is a crappy one for a playoff team. I mean, it’s almost like they picked “Stars win the Stanley Cup? Stranger things have happened!”

It's not horrible though...
given the team’s recent lack of success in the postseason it’s not horrible. However, I agree to a certain extent.
