Junior Mayberry

is 4/4 today….look out AL west! Those young Texas Rangers are coming faster than you thought

by texrangers31 on May 2, 2008 10:55 PM CDT reply actions

Why did

Wes Littleton get sent down?????

I love Miley Cyrus.

by miles on May 2, 2008 10:55 PM CDT reply actions

yeah this seems like the

perfect place for his services

touchdown... touchdown... and st.micheals takes the lead.

by kmacsm on May 2, 2008 10:56 PM CDT up reply actions

Because he went 3 stright days at one point, and threw 80 pitches

That was after the Detroit series, when the bullpen got roughed up. We needed a fresh arm, and Littleton had not pitched well in Detroit.

Idle Thoughts Reiterated from Old Thread

I kind’ve imagine Ron Washington auditioning for a promotion back when he was in Oakland by talking to Beane about how the team should bunt more and start players who show more scrapiness, and by showing off his crazy lineup strategies.

And I picture Beane laughing him out of the office and then calling a divisional rival to give him a recommendation.

by philkid3 on May 2, 2008 10:55 PM CDT reply actions

Heh

Yeah, I saw that in the last thread. Nice.

by LSJ on May 2, 2008 10:57 PM CDT up reply actions

Keen observation

and probably spot on.

by EssBee on May 2, 2008 10:58 PM CDT up reply actions

Why demote Boggs?

I think he’s more deserving than Byrd. Even if he’s not, I say keep him.

by brettgardner on May 2, 2008 10:57 PM CDT up reply actions

me too, but spec is...

Byrd man is flapping again, and ready to fuck up the lineup.

by cmkelly29 on May 2, 2008 10:58 PM CDT up reply actions

Let's assume Boggs...

...goes 0 for his next 10…

Should he still be up instead of Byrd?

by Adam J. Morris on May 2, 2008 10:59 PM CDT up reply actions

Of course

Byrd doesn’t belong up here, period.

by cmkelly29 on May 2, 2008 11:00 PM CDT up reply actions

Byrd

He’s a 4th outfielder.

Would you rather have Byrd up here playing 2-3 days a week, and Boggs playing every day in Oklahoma, or Boggs up here playing 2-3 days a week?

by Adam J. Morris on May 2, 2008 11:02 PM CDT up reply actions

I'd rather...

cut Broussard.

Cat/Shelton 1B
Boggs LF
Hamilton CF
Murphy RF
Bradley DH

by cmkelly29 on May 2, 2008 11:05 PM CDT up reply actions

Boggs has...

...all of about 300 PAs above A ball.

Now, he might be major league ready right now.

But I’m not ready to proclaim him, based on 6 or 7 major league ABs, deserving of a permanent roster spot.

by Adam J. Morris on May 2, 2008 11:08 PM CDT up reply actions

True

I would rather rehab Byrd and let Boggs play everyday in the majors. If he falls off, he falls off.

by cmkelly29 on May 2, 2008 11:11 PM CDT up reply actions

Well, with Milton Bradley unable to play the OF very much

I think Boggs might get a little more than that.

And… yes, that seems to be Bogg’s future roll in the majors… why not?

What's going to happen if

Southlakes Chase Daniel goes before Stafford in the Draft? Will you kill someone?

by sprite on May 2, 2008 11:11 PM CDT up reply actions

What are you

talking about? Everyone including Mel Kiper says Stafford is a sure number 1 pick…

I love Miley Cyrus.

by miles on May 2, 2008 11:12 PM CDT up reply actions

Mel Kiper is a douche

first off. Brohm was supposed to be #1 this year. A lot of things can happen in a year…

by sprite on May 2, 2008 11:14 PM CDT up reply actions

Brohm

was the best QB I think, time will tell…

Stafford > Tebow…

What other QB’s are good that can come out next year?

I love Miley Cyrus.

by miles on May 2, 2008 11:18 PM CDT up reply actions

system QB,

Matt Stafford was way better than him even in high school….

Can Harrell throw a ball 80 yards?

I love Miley Cyrus.

by miles on May 2, 2008 11:19 PM CDT up reply actions

Well

For one, of course I was joking.

Stafford was the best QB in the nation in high school, so I’m not sure that’s a fair point.

But most grades I’ve seen of Harrell have him as a 3rd rounder, which is fair. Maybe a little generous, but I wouldn’t call Harrell a system QB. He’s immensely better than anyone here since Kingsbury.

by brettgardner on May 2, 2008 11:22 PM CDT up reply actions

I know,

I’m not even that big of a fan of Stafford…

Now Clayton Kershaw, he is a beast.

I love Miley Cyrus.

I think Griffey-level is a bit of a stretch.

He’s good, but I can’t see him being that good.

Particularly when even though he puts up highlights like that sometimes, his defense thus far hasn’t been exactly spectacular.

by philkid3 on May 2, 2008 11:20 PM CDT up reply actions

uh, what?

even though i questioned how good that play was, he has been very consistently good in cf in my opinion. solidly above average.

Gerald Laird is my hero.

by DShep on May 2, 2008 11:24 PM CDT up reply actions

I would tend disagree

on the level of his defense so far. I think he has been an exceptional outfielder so far. So he has made a few mistakes but remember we are a 2nd yr player here. We will have to deal with some aggressive errors on his part

Oh

Okay, Ron. I’m sorry for accusing you of being an Oakland double-agent.

by philkid3 on May 2, 2008 11:43 PM CDT up reply actions

Why?

And I’m relatively certain Laird was bunting for a hit, just trying to get on to get a rally started. Which is something he’s doing on his own, not because of Washington.

Good job, Rangers.

Maybe things are getting worked out. I don’t think we’re going to contend, and I think Kevin Goldstein was too half-full in his projection, but I do think we should be better than we have been.

Fuck

Stars had 2 goals waved off. The second one I could see, but the first one looked cleaner.

3 in a row...

a game back of 3rd and we get them next.

Padilla looked pretty good again. The pen did it’s job, but made me very nervous. Hamilton saved this game with that catch. I’m certain the Rangers lose this game without that play.
