Houston Astros=world series favorites

Yeah, I know what yall and Adam are really thinking about.

Lance Berkmann is fat and a terrible hitter. On the Rangers he would have washed out at DH ten years ago.

And oh that Miguel Tejada, he's so good right. Oh yeah, he's really good.

No LOL

I need a forum that moves a thousand posts a minute to satisfy my twitchy OCD, heh.

Also I forgot to add

I dont care about the Rangers much anymore. Especially after they started 5-18 or whatever.

I think I’ll pick up a little interest as the season goes on. Especially if they keep playing better.

Wow we have girls now?

I liked your post btw.

by Sharky on May 20, 2008 11:39 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

But seriously

We all know the Astros are out there. Lurking, world series favorites. Even when they’re lollygagging around ten games under, season after season. They’re like the Rockets. You have to breathe a sigh of relief whenever they’re eliminated because they have to be constant title favorites from any seed.

26-21. Yep. They’re gonna win that division by 25 games. Or one, either way.

How long ago would Berkmann have been traded if he was a Ranger?

by Sharky on May 20, 2008 11:42 PM CDT   1 recs

Sharky, my brother, welcome back.

A couple things you missed:
-Hank Blalock moved to 1B
-Michael Young is probably going to be moved to third
-HH is HurlerHurley
-LSB moved to a new format
-Obama won Oregon by 14 points tonight and won a majority of pledged delegates, all but sealing the Democratic nomination and the presidency
-The Astros are going to finish second in the division if they are lucky, depending on if the Cardinals can keep up what they’ve been doing
-The Brewers might put it together

Missed you, buddy. Much love. In fact, I believe that all of LSB sends you a California-endorsed kiss.

Yeah

You got a better idea out of the NL? No, you dont.

Maybe you could say Boston is a higher favorite. MAYBE. That’s it. Other than that it’s Astros, period, and everybody knows it. Just like everybody expected the Rockets to win the NBA playoffs nationwide.

Before they were upset

I mean, the Rockets.

Question for a throw-away thread ...

I just watched the movie No Country for Old Men on DVD. I have a question for those who’ve seen it. SPOILERS!

Near the beginning of the movie, after Anton has acquired the Sheriff’s prowler, he pulls over some poor sap along the highway in order to steal his car. He puts the air-hammer thing up to the guy’s forehead and plugs him. My question is this … did blood spurt out the back of the guy’s head when he got zapped? How do you remember that scene? I have another question once we’ve established a general consensus on the first.

by shroomer on May 21, 2008 11:42 AM CDT   0 recs

Yes

Blood did spurt out the back of the guy’s head. Good movie, but I ddin’t like the ending.

by B_Black on May 21, 2008 12:18 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Okay, I thought there was a spurt out the back, too

Not too much later, the goofy Deputy is standing over Tommy Lee Jones eating lunch in a diner. He tells him the forensics report on the poor sap guy shows an entry wound but no exit wound … and surprisingly no bullet anywhere inside the sap’s haid. Tommy Lee sez something droll like, “All due respect, Clem, but that ain’t possible.” So, we have exit wound blood splatter in the murder scene, but then they tell us 5 minutes later that there was no exit wound. Really bugged me, that.

by shroomer on May 21, 2008 4:12 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Yes,

I noticed the same thing.

Formerly known as OKRangerFan

by B_Black on May 21, 2008 4:23 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Maybe the did it on purpose

In Blood Simple they show the audience how the bullets are chambered in the revolver and then get the order mixed up at the end. I think they did that on purpose to screw with our haids. Screwed with mine, Jack.

by shroomer on May 21, 2008 4:28 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Maybe so.

I have watched Ocean’s Eleven more times than I can count, and they have a lot of things like that going on. I have always kind of thought they were doing those things to screw with people.

by B_Black on May 21, 2008 4:39 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Ocean's Eleven

Someone brought up to Soderbergh that the weight of all that money would be more than a handful of people could carry.

He said that yeah, that was true, and it something they simply didn’t think of until the movie was done, at which point it was too late.

Sharky said it, I believe it, that settles it

by DJCahill on May 23, 2008 12:34 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

well....

Not in real life at least. As someone who has used a captive-bolt stun gun on livestock, it doesn’t. What it does is shove the bolt and skull far enough into the brain to “stun” the animal, or victim here. It’ll make them brain-dead, but not kill them. The only blood you would see would leak out the point of impact, and would be quite minimal, suprisingly.

Zap Brannigan... you're my hero.....

No Miles...

sucks to talk as much shit as you do and then see every prediction you make get thrown right back in your face. I do believe the Celtics pwned Detroit at the Palace last night. Not saying they are guaranteed to win the series, but that game should shutup everyone who was saying they can’t win on the road. :P
