OT: Castillo or Beavan?
Assuming the great Shroom's schedule holds true for the next couple of weeks, the Clinton Rotation for the period I am looking at is going to go Castillo, Holland, Beavan. I'm planning on catching a couple of their games and can either do Castillo/Holland (most convenient) or Holland/Beavan. Which would be better?

tough choice
i’d be tempted to see beavan and holland.
but castillo is interesting, especially since i really havent read that too many people have seen him.

very tough choice
but I think I agree with rentz. Most people have only seen numbers on Castillo and a real live look at him would be very interesting. Besides I get the feeling more than a few things will be said and heard about Beavan.
Main
If he is there, I’d make sure I see him pitch if I could. Is he likely to be activated soon?
Thanks everyone for their input…I am leaning towards seeing Beavan I think…I want to see if he is as cool as Kasey.
Oh, and I guess I could see all 3 Inkara, but only if I skip going to the RedHawks game and I’m not sure if I want to do that.

I'd vote Beavan probably
Be interested to hear about his mound demeanor, velocity, pace, arm recoil, base-runner-holding ability, response to tribulation, etc.
I’d vote Neil Ramirez, too if he magically appears during your trip.
In about 3 weeks Clinton plays DH’s on back-to-back days. That would be a real good time to have Main or Ramirez show up – Micucci will need extra arms.
4 games
in two days? Wow. Starters need to do well. Is that from all that weather in April?
...and curse Sir Walter Raleigh, he was such a stupid git.
Yeah, make-up games
One of the DH’s is a day/night affair – which means 9-inning games instead of the normal 7-innings. And the third day they have a 2:00 game – doh!
BTW, TR has an article up saying Ramirez and Main shouldn’t be expected until mid-June – which coincides pretty nicely with this cluster-header. Of course, it also coincides with the beginning of the 2nd half of the MWL season. So, we’ll see.
Please
give us a full report when you get back.

castillo
isn’t his hype on this board almost completely driven by Z? go holland, beavan. doubt it would even be a question if you asked minorleagueball.com

Z is ahead of the curve, likely
I trust his opinion more than 99.9% of the posters on Sickels’ site. Most Latin signings aren’t talked about as much as draft picks or if they’re not Yankee or Red Sox signings.

latin players
i go to Z for all my 16yr old latin player information

latin players are talked about
about as much as they need to be, given that they are 16-17 and the only thing you have to go on is that they have live fastballs. Not that Beavan has a track record but he’s pitched pretty well this year. That being said, Castillo looked pretty good in his first start too.
I’d personally go see beavan but it is more of a toss up than i made it out to be i guess

I don't really think that
I can accept too much blame or credit for hyping Castillo. I did make that post stating that he might be my choice of all of their pitchers (I might lean toward Feliz right now), and I do typically include him when there is a discussion going on regarding the best arms in the system.
However…
I’m more of a parrot than anything else when it comes to Castillo. I’ve never seen him pitch. My hyping him is based a little on results, but almost completely on information from BA and Jamey (and especially Jamey).
For what it’s worth, my opinion is still that he’s right there with Feliz, Beavan, Main, etc., and if I were in Beverly’s shoes I’d probably be more intrigued with seeing him than Beavan.

I would rather see Castillo than Beavan. We have all seen plenty of scouting videos of Beavan, while it is almost impossible to even find a photo of Castillo.

Unfortunately, it’s not him but what a promising nickname.

Holland/Beavan...
would be my choice. Tough choice though.

I've pretty much decided to blow off the Redhawks game...
And go to all 3 Clinton games (which means I should see Castillo, Holland and Beavan). I figure I see the RedHawks all the time and now that my buddy Micah was called up there’s no one I’m dying to see…
I’ll take tons of pics but I’m not sure how quickly I’ll be able to load them….it will depend on how quickly I get annoyed with the slowless of my laptop…if it gets bad I may just wait until I get home.
