is mint…
only half joking.
shelton seems to have gotten better. and salt’s average ain’t great, but he walks. i think his hitting is gonna turn around.

NIXON: NOW MORE THAN EVER
Shelton-Salty
are probably above average 7th-8th hitters.
shelton has a .856 ops for may, which still started with a 1 for 8 or whatever.
Gerald Laird is my hero.
and our 1-2-3-4
are probably above average too :)
and our 9 too
http://www.buchanan4pres2008.org/
NIXON: NOW MORE THAN EVER
hmm
Id say… for their lineup spots…
Kinsler – slightly above average
Young – average
Hamilton – above average
Bradley – above average this year, probably average in general
Murphy – average this year, probably slightly below average in general for the 5th spot.
Boggs – below average
Shelton – slightly above average. his career ops is over 800 and after a slow start he has resumed looking like a decent hitter. below average for 1b, but above for the lineup spot.
Salty -a bit above average. most lineups are pretty thin down here, at least salty has patience and power. average will show back up.
Vazquez – above average so far obvviously, but i cant get past his bad career numbers. but its the 9th spot, so ill say average in general.
Gerald Laird is my hero.
2 hole
I don’t know, a lot of managers hit some pretty crap players second.

MY is a above average 2 hole hitter imo.

is not above avg. any where in the lineup right now

But Hamilton is
WAY above average.
re: Ann Coulter - "She doesn't get raped nearly enough." - DJ Cahill
i should have salty "below average right now"
before the a bit above average overall like i dod for some other players.
but theres a lot of reasons to think salty in 500 at bats would be better than your average 8th hitter. much better.
Gerald Laird is my hero.
Whoooaaa
That’s cool. Was that an automatic post that just imported the lineups on its own?
What happened to my old signature?
Very nice AJM...
I’m digging the lineups like that.
I also like our lineup v. the Indians. Unfortunatelt the pitching matchups the next 3 days leave much to be desired. I think we lose 2 of 3.

Was it manual
and you just waited until an hour ago for the post or was it somehow automated?
What happened to my old signature?
I'm really impressed with the 2.0 feature set
I don’t know why they haven’t implemented some way of having paging in very long threads though – it would solve the “new thread is up” problem.
their lineup is really cold though.
im expecting the rangers to lose 2 as well, but not as overwhelmingly as i would if hafner/garko wernt slumping. theres a chance.

PTI...
just had a over/under on Hamslam winning 1 of the 3 Triple crown categories in the AL. Both Bob Ryan and MIchael Wilbon said he could win the RBI title but wouldn’t win the batting title or HR crown.
Anyone here think he could win the triple crown? I don’t think he can win the batting title. He may have a outside shot at the HR crown, but I don’t think that’s likely either. The RBI crown could get tighter, but I think he will take that one if he stays healthy.
Either way, nice to see Hamslam getting some love on a national level. He has been the AL MVP so far, hands down.
"The only good is knowledge and the only evil is ignorance."-Socrates
i'll go out on a limb
and say he’ll place in top 3 in rbi, top 5 in HR and top 10 in avg

That's what I was hoping
I know they had that good run of 0-run starting pitching, but I wasn’t sure how good the bullpen was. If we can keep piling it on and get to the bullpen early, we could be in for a fun game.

Ya know...
I can’t believe how well the Rangers lineup is doing against very good pitching lately.
Wash deserves a lot of credit for changing the mentality and hitting approach for this team and getting them to work the count against very good pitching. The results have been very good.
"The only good is knowledge and the only evil is ignorance."-Socrates
walks
did grieve really attirbute milton’s walks to the rangers approach? milton has always walked.
the rangers walks have a lot more to do with the insertion of fairly patient players than anything else.
great inning by the way.
Gerald Laird is my hero.
I think it's a little of both
Having one of your leaders be a guy whose approach jives with the manager’s (Bradley, Wash) is better than having one of your leaders (Teixeira) quibble with the manager. That’s why I’m in the don’t deal Bradley camp. People will follow a leader and it is evident at the plate this year.
Not just the leadoff batter

Unfortunately, I don’t think even Wakefield velocity will save him
(I typed this just as he struck out Shoppach on 3 pitches; maybe the coffee is finally kicking in)
I'd like to thank Kelly Shoppach

Funny how
In the beginning of the season, and alot of last season we all harped on people who talked about the “same ole Rangers, all hitting, no pitching” and how they didnt even know what they were talking about.
Yet here we are dominating all that is offense in baseball, with terrible pitching holding us back from being a contender.
The pitching...
has not been terrible. Look at the team ERA. Last year was terrible.
"The only good is knowledge and the only evil is ignorance."-Socrates
Half of that has to be the bullpen though
The starting pitching has been decent, although a lot of that has been guys like Ponson overperforming.

As I said before:
The problem was, while Harrison Ford is Indiana Jones and he is walking and talking in front of you on the big screen & that at least is awesome, it didn’t feel like an Indiana Jones movie. Too much CGI, too much exposition about terrible plot points to begin with, Shia LeBouf (Nothing more needs to be said, and not enough gritty, droll, half-smirking, dust kicked up, Indiana Jones.

i just got online but i have to ask, is he hurt? that seattle game was his 1st off the DL and was pitching great till Sexson. Ever since that he has struggled throwing strikes. just wondered if he is actually healthy. i know we need him to pitch but id like him to go back to the DL and regain his early season form. the Gabbard taking the mound these days is not helping us out anyway.
