Hamilton to grace the cover of SI
Just got word on the little Ticket that Hambone is going to be the cover story for the upcoming issue of Sports Illustrated. I can't find anything else to confirm it, so this all rests on the suspect word of one Cobra Davidson. I assume it 's going to be the feature that Albert Chen did. Decent read.
Hopefully this will help up the kid's terrible all-star voting numbers. I've already voted for him four times...and Richie Sexson 12.

Have no fear
even the infamous SI jinx is afraid of Josh Hamilton.

The Unbelievable Josh Hamilton?
Kind of a give up on the title, dontcha think?
I guess it was the beatings made me wise. But I'm not about to give thanks, or apologize.
not really
His story is pretty unbelievable. It takes a special talent to not only be away from the sport completely for such a long time and be able to not only come back but jump right inot the highest level and be successful. Much less someone who has gone through what he has gone through. Id say unbelievable is a pretty accurate description
haven't gotten an SI since I was a kid
but I’ll have to make an exception for this
great cover photo btw
SI + Stellar Play
can’t hurt Hamilton’s chances of moving up in the All-Star voting.
Actually, it will improve his national exposure and might get him in the game straight-up.
Obviously, he’ll get in per manager, but getting in by votes would be very impressive and deserving.
I don't know Karate...but I know Karazy!
Rangers - Sports Illustrated
When was the last time a Ranger on the cover (not just a tiny picture in the lower corner)?
These are the ones I’ve seen:
Billy Martin – 1975
Bump Wills – 1977
Nolan Ryan – early 90s baseball issue, and maybe another one
Pudge Rodriguez – 1990s

The newest SI cover is pretty cool too:

In Bizarro World
They put the player names on the backs of Yankees Jerseys. I detest Jeter.

Hence the name Bizarro World

Wouldn't he say "Bad Bye"?
I mean that is the opposite of good bye, right?
The 40 trumps all!!!

I'd say my only beef (ever so minor)
With that photo is that there really isn’t indication he plays for the Rangers. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still cool and I will buy a copy, but it’d be nice to see the Rangers on his chest or at least the T on his helmet.
Picking a random blog comment and wielding it as a club to bash "blogs" is like picking a random romance novel off an airport bookstore shelf and saying, "This book sucks. Fuck you, Tolstoy -- your medium is worthless!" - Ken Tremendous
Hamilton
I think that its because the story on him is not really about the rangers its more about his comeback from his troubles. The picture is perfect IMO. You see him after a swing with the bat which is what he does now but the way his off arm is where you can see the blue flame tattoo on his arm which is directly linked to those troubled times kinda blends the two things the story is about together.
15 different offers for Hamilton?
I’d never heard that before… any speculation/rumors as to who else was offered?
Josh Hamilton is my hero...
I’m not just saying that.
It’s kind of ironic that he’ll probably end up as one of the poster-boys for Major League Baseball as it moves away from a drug-related past.
