Yankees Sign Ben Broussard
BALTIMORE: The New York Yankees signed veteran first baseman Ben Broussard to a minor league contract Tuesday and assigned him to Triple-A Scranton.
The 31-year-old Broussard hit .159 with three homers and eight RBIs with Texas this season before he was designated for assignment May 8. Broussard, acquired in a December trade with Seattle, was the Rangers' opening day first baseman.
In seven major league seasons with Cleveland, Seattle and Texas, Broussard hit .263 with 87 homers and 314 RBIs.
Broussard started at first base for Scranton on Tuesday and batted fourth.

Nah...
We already released him which puts us on the hook, Yanks only have to pay him major league minimum while we pay the rest assuming he gets called up. We’d be off the hook for his salary if the Yanks had claimed him off waivers when we put him on there after DFA’ing him.

Which is why he was able to find work
No one would want him for $3 million or whatever… but for the prorated portion of $390K, why not? Maybe he left his suck in Arlington.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...
My three favorite numbers: 10, 32, 36. =)
i seriously hope Benny pulls it together...
...he’s a good guy… for whatever reason, it just didn’t work out here.
he’s got to be better than what he showed in April…
It's not too bad...
Plan C-hris Shelton and
Plan C-atalanotto.
We’ll see Plan D-avis later this year.
I find it very refreshing...
to see the mighty Yankees signing our castoffs instead of the other way around. Things are looking up.
