I thought conventional wisdom was that

you play the other catcher when you have a day game after a night game.

Need a good story...

...to extend my lunch break long enough to catch this game. How about this one:

“I went to have lunch with my wife and she accidentaly grabbed my keys from the table at the restaurant while I stayed to pick up the bill. So I had to wait around for her to come back with my keys.”

Believable?

by Adam J. Morris on May 28, 2008 11:27 AM CDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

It's is definitely Mih-zuhr-REE

And I hate people who say Missoura. It bothers the hell out of me. In fact, at my graduation last week, the dean conferred the degrees by saying, “By the power vested in me by the University of Mih-ZURH-uh…”, and everyone groaned.

Only politicians say Missoura, because it appeals to the traditionalist, rural voters (read: rednecks/hoosiers).

We just won’t mention that other Fresno State alumni include Jeff Weaver and Tom Goodwin :(

I wish we had a better 1B and Blalock was playing but Vasquez has been amazing of late.

OT: Ouch
May 28 DH Carlos Guillen was slotted as the DH Tuesday night for Detroit because of a bad case of hemorrhoids. “The decision is that he can hardly move,” manager Jim Leyland explained. “He has hemorrhoids so bad, he probably shouldn’t have been out there. I don’t know if he’s going to have them lanced or not.” Leyland said the problem has bothered Guillen for nearly a week “but got worse. He could hardly walk last night. He’s hurting, but he’s a trouper.”
