6-3 Rangers
Murray 6.1 IP, 6 Hits, 2 R, 1 ER, 2 BB’s 3 K’s
I don’t think Wilson will be available, so I’ll just throw Frankie out there for the save. Young + Shelton go deep.
by cmkelly29 on May 3, 2008 7:16 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
Frankie?
Last time we saw Frankie, he couldn’t even come in and get two outs. I’d rather throw Guardado out there for the 9th than Frankie.
by lonestarJon on May 3, 2008 7:20 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
I'm just going off of
Guardado + Benoit both pitching last night.
The night previous to Frank’s last appearence:
1 IP
1 H
0 BB’s
2 K’s
Could be Frankie.

7-5 Texas
Fun fact: after last night, Oakland is second in the AL with 27 errors. I think you know who has the most, though.

I'm interested to see how Murray does
It would really be nice to see him stick in the rotation for awhile.
Not that Pontoon or Feldman 2.0 are bad, but I’d rather see Murray in the rotation than either of them.
Say, anybody got a lineup yet? I was just about to check Yahoo.
by lonestarJon on May 3, 2008 7:14 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
With 4 starters on the DL...
and the last two starts by Ponson he isn’t going anywhere for awile.
Plus Gabbard and Mendoza should be back soon so there probably won’t be much room for the Pirate in the rotation.

Well, if Mendoza comes back, and pitches like he was before he got hurt
There very well might be room in the rotation for Murray. We’ll see – a lot depends on how he does tonight.

I do not know why Ron plays Vazquez over him. Brandon Boggs seems to be the first, and only young player that I have seen Ron play over a “veteran” though – and I think it’s just because of Bogg’s hot start in the majors.

If Murphy can keep this up, Hamilton continues the way he’s been going, and Bradley and Boggs continue to produce, the Rangers have an actual outfield again, instead of the collection of fourth and fifth outfielders they’ve been running out there for the last few seasons.

Personally...
...I doubt he has the range to be a very good defensive 2B at this point in his career.

MY is just not good enough for the mid-INF these days. 3B or LF is where he’ll wind up.
by lonestarJon on May 3, 2008 9:14 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
probably not...
I mean, where does he go from SS? RF?
by cmkelly29 on May 3, 2008 9:15 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
3B or LF
RF, no way. Not for a guy who’s never played OF before.
by lonestarJon on May 3, 2008 9:16 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
Just going on his arm...
which is decent. I guess 3B would be the spot.

in two years anyway when Elvis enters the building?
Hey, it could be worse...

probably 3rd
but the point is arias has to enter the building first

by Hubris on May 3, 2008 9:19 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
don't know if I mind a sac bunt from Vazquez too much
IDK, what do you guys think?
by Gdawg on May 3, 2008 9:19 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
not in that situation
with Young and Hamilton coming up.
by cmkelly29 on May 3, 2008 9:20 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
well Vazquez isn't too likely to get a hit
or move the runner with a deep fly ball at least. With Young and Hammy coming up, you are guaranteeing yourself almost that at least one run scores by putting a guy on 3rd for them

yes -
but he’s also on a pace to walk about 30+ times more than his career high, which means he’ll have to hit for a higher avg to compensate for fewer ABs.
