Got

this from shroom’s site who got it from Bev’s blog.

C-Wun looks like a thug. Yea.

btw

its a slideshow of pics from the Lumberking game.

by coolaid on May 30, 2008 5:42 PM CDT up reply actions

Cool pics

but HOLY CRAP is that slideshow a pain in the ass to use. when I press “next,” that generally means I want to see the next picture.

by Inkara1 on May 30, 2008 6:21 PM CDT up reply actions

This might be a little better.

by coolaid on May 30, 2008 6:22 PM CDT up reply actions

I know you aren't supposed to break the L-R rule

when making comps, but those pics remind me a lot of the Big Unit. Obviously C-Wun is a little shorter and a little not as much of a horribly ugly skinny redneck, but still it looks like there are some similarities in their mechanics, and that can’t be a bad thing. The Unit was freaking awesome in his prime.

The 40 trumps all!!!

huh?

Who is C-Wun?

I still have about 1500 pictures to go through and upload the best ones but I haven’t had time. Maybe this weekend.

Sorry...

I forgot about the directory! :-)

The poor kid….he doesn’t look like a thug! And I really hope he lives up to that nickname or else I suspect he is going to hear it from the people here!

Dutch

He looks like an 8 year old. 8 year olds dude.

No, he's a sex offender. With a record.

He served 6 months in Chino for exposing himself to an eight year old.

LSB going skanky...

I haven’t seen the “adult friend finder” style ad for “fling.com” before. Obviously, the ad gurus aren’t properly researching the LSB demo.

Whoo-Hoo!

I get to see Tommy Hunter Saturday from a suite. Woah, 1st time ever, and I get the VIP treatment.

Thanks to good friends.

I was at the game Friday night

He's got more

Goldstein chronicled that one start recently and it seems like he was hitting 96 whenever he needed to. And of course in relief he’s documented at 100.

by Brett Perryman on May 30, 2008 6:28 PM CDT up reply actions

I'm just drooling

PLEASE let him work out as a starter…

He needs to move up soon.

When is the break for 1st half vs. 2nd half? I expect several moves once slots have been decided.

How

do you pronounce Engel?

Like angel or ann-yal?

Just wondering since the radio guy keeps saying ann-yal.

by coolaid on May 30, 2008 6:43 PM CDT reply actions

oops

more like ehn-hel. G is like an H sound. LL is a Y sound.

I liked the old timey downtown. Very Cool.

Be sure to go to Nick's (I think)

and get the garbage plate.

...and curse Sir Walter Raleigh, he was such a stupid git.

by t ball on May 30, 2008 11:17 PM CDT up reply actions

Dont worry T,

Im from Rochester so I know all the hot spots for garbage plates. Nicks is good, but they aren’t the best anymore, imo.

Yeah, I went last week and sdsaw Liariano pitch and he is just nasty. He gave up three runs, but he held his own. He should be ready for the Twins shortly.

Minor league games are a reall good time and I enjoy them very much.

Nippert

nice outting in game 1 tonight. Im glad he got through waivers. Hopefully he takes his time in OKC and really works on his stuff and can come back later this year and help out

by bigsteve on May 30, 2008 7:19 PM CDT reply actions

Feliz

Alright this is getting ridiculous. Move the guy up to Bakersfield NOW.

5 IP tonight 8 Ks ZERO ER

by bigsteve on May 30, 2008 7:25 PM CDT reply actions

Full line

5 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 8 K

On the year: 52.2 IP, 34 H, 19 BB, 58 K, zero HR (and milb.com has his GO/AO ratio at nearly 2.5, which is awesome), ERA down to 2.05.

The Midwest League is probably the best pitchers league (park-wise) in pro ball, and the Cal League is probably the best hitters league, but I agree with you guys, can’t see much reason not to go ahead and challenge him in High A a month after his 20th birthday.

by Brett Perryman on May 30, 2008 7:50 PM CDT up reply actions

I kind of like the Kershaw approach for Feliz.

Keep Feliz in low-A to build command of his stuff and his confidence, then jump him to AA to begin next year.

by rooster on May 31, 2008 9:29 AM CDT up reply actions

Why?

I still don’t understand the rationale behind that. Feliz is really good, but he isn’t Kershaw good. I just don’t see the point in tricking up his development by skipping a level. It’s like they would be saying, “let’s see if it’s even possible to screw you up.”

by Brett Perryman on May 31, 2008 11:40 AM CDT up reply actions

Not in favor

Cal League is a hitter’s league, so it’s a substantial uptick.

I mean, look at guys like Zach Phillips, Kiker, even Poveda (small sample of course). It’s nice to see them overcome the difficulty.

If Feliz gets it right away, then maybe give him a couple AA starts this year.

Go Strangers.

by hightowersmith on May 31, 2008 4:10 PM CDT up reply actions

if he makes AA by year's end

is there a chance we could see him in Arlington 2nd half of next year, or is that just going the Volquez route? realistically, I guess the best we can hope for is Spring of 2010

love me some Neftali.

His numbers this year are just plain sick.

Whenever I hear that phrase, I think of this little pud:

I don’t know how I couldn’t go against this as my favorite:

great to see

the 7 Ks against no walks. Solid ground ball rate too. I would really like to see Harrison in AAA soon.

by clark on May 30, 2008 9:07 PM CDT up reply actions

Well

Loe was the starter for the 2nd game of the DH tonight so he would fit into the rotation perfectly if they wanted to move him up now.

by bigsteve on May 30, 2008 9:15 PM CDT up reply actions

Somebody is walking a bit more lately

i would love to see him rum around the bases as well, probably very Josh like. I think that’s 4 triples for him already?

by Longhorn on May 30, 2008 9:00 PM CDT reply actions

Reminds me more

of like a Cliff Floyd type running (though even a little skinnier). Definitely doesn’t look like Hamilton. Very few guys that size can run like him though.

by Brett Perryman on May 30, 2008 9:20 PM CDT up reply actions

Also

Not sure if anyone mentioned it, but Cruz is playing some CF, with Gold DHing.
