Minors 5/5
OMG, mighty Cruz has struck out. Gold picked up the slack, though, with a HR to lead off the 2nd. Mr. Automatic, Mayberry, is 1-1. The Rangers can't demote Boggs. There is no place to put him on the farm. Redhawks lead 1-0 while batting in the second.
At approximately 7p, the human hitting machine begins his attempt to be named Texas League Player of the Week for consecutive weeks. I'm not betting against it. It might be that the only thing to hold back Max is the weather. Rain near Frisco with the weather service posting a 60% chance of rain this evening.
Superman, I mean Blake Beavan, starts tonight for Clinton.
Everyday is a fun day on the farm!

Arias
Today’s NMLR said he’s close to sliding back to the left side of the infield.
Anyone catch what the source was on that? Jamey?

Was there ever
a clear explanation given for his injury? I don’t remember seeing it.

Tejeda was the starter in the OKC game.
6 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 4 K’s. According to the box score he threw 76 pitches total and 54 were for strike.
Not bad considering this is basically the same line-up Hurley faced yesterday.

HUH?
I thought he was going to be a BP pitcher only now…
Benoit, part deux, I suppose.

Beavan
Gave up two home runs tonight but overall not bad. Still got through 6 innings which makes me curious how he is being treated as opposed to others. In the Feliz thread it tracked his outing the other night. He threw less than 70 pitches in 5 innings and was pulled. Is Beavan going these 6 innings in a similar pitch amount or is he throwing 90-100 pitches? All that being said I don’t think you could ask for a better start from a guy who didn’t play last year after signing. Makes me really anxious for Main to start pitching in a couple weeks. Imagine a Clinton rotation with Feliz, Beavan, and Main. Wow.

Quo vadis, Neil Ramirez?
Is he expected to start at Clinton?
Cause, needless to say, if Gomez keeps up his current level he could be in Bakersfield by June.

I didn't hear a pitch count...
...but Beavan seemed to be efficient and didn’t walk or strike out anyone. I doubt he threw more than 80 pitches.
