The Beginning of the End of Ben Broussard
Frank Catalanotto is playing first base today.
That tells me that Ben Broussard is likely gone when Marlon Byrd is ready to come off the d.l.

Finally
Buenos nachos Broussard.

Broussard comparison
Hey adam, earlier this year you said you thought BB would be this season’s Barajas. That was optimistic. He has become this season’s Kata.

That's cold
No way Kata was that bad.

Kata
Went 1 for his last 39 as a Ranger before he was released last year.

Had to be done
You can’t send Boggs down yet, if at all.
Best roster move of the season so far, other than the Boggs call-up.

Don't congratulate too soon.
They haven’t actually made any move yet. Just speculation on what happens when Byrd is activated.

I made the same supposition in my latest blog entry
I don’t see why Broussard is still on the roster anyway. He shoulda been DFA’d instead of Botts to begin with.

Cat...
Grief. Chris Davis cannot get here soon enough. Here’s hoping the extra ABs increase Frank’s trade value.
I wish Davis had MaxRam’s plate discipline, though. The strikeouts…the strikeouts…always the strikeouts.

Cat is this season's Whifferson...
as my least favorite player. Shame cause he used to be a favorite back in the red jersey days. He will be getting the majority of my boos when i get back to the metroplex in a week. Unless of course The Brouss is not DFA’d by then.

Cat is a close second...
...to Ben Broussard.
My three favorite numbers: 10, 32, 36. =)

To be fair to Cat
His OPS+ is 114 according to baseball-reference. His batting average is terrible(.254), but an OBP of .342 is acceptable considering how infrequently he plays. I don’t like the guy because an overweight fan on a Segway could play left field better than he does, but I have to back him a little bit here.

Boggs...
has cooled off a little the last couple games.
Every time he comes up I want him to see him do well to force the Rangers hand of keeping him and DFAing Broussard.
Cat playing at 1B has to be a sign Broussard is as good as gone though, I agree.
