Have you seen Vazquez's 'stache?

It’s kind of an ongoing LSB joke. Him and Catalanotto both have rediculous chin hair:

It’s just something we make light of, it’s not some racial bias deal.

AJ Murray
I remember seeing something about him heading back to OKC to make room for Gabbard. I’ll try to find the link.
by LSJ on May 8, 2008 8:26 PM CDT up reply actions
Here it is:
The Rangers are getting Kason Gabbard back. He is coming off the disabled list on Thursday to pitch against the Mariners. Left-hander A.J. Murray is expected to be sent back to Triple-A Oklahoma on Thursday after making just one start for the Rangers. Murray beat the Athletics, 6-3, on Saturday while allowing three runs in 5 1/3 innings.

Catching
The platoon is really F’d up.
Laird against the righthander, when we faced a lefty last night.
I understand it’s 2 days on, 2 days off, but you might as well play Salty.
Maybe they want him catching Gabbard over Salty?
It seems as though
We’re working the catching platoons based on who’s pitching for us instead of who’s pitching for them. Can’t say that I personally have a problem with it, if it’s going to result in better ERAs.

Wow
2-0 Rangers in the first inning against Felix Hernandez after stealing a game away from Bedard last night.
This looks more like the team we saw at the beginning of the season
They are looking a lot more patient at the plate, are working the counts, and seeing it actually pay off. Pretty much the only difference is that they are having better luck with RISP.

Gabbard being Gabbard
He won’t strike out a ton and he won’t have an outstanding WHIP, but a guy who never lets a ball leave the IF will have a lot of success as a Major League pitcher.
Gabbard
If he doesn’t start K-ing a few more guys, and walking a few less, he’s not likely to continue to have success.

Absolutely
He’s walked 9 guys and struck out 8 in 20 innings so far this year…you can’t do that and have success.

Put both their catchers on the d.l. today. LoDuca is out for 4-6 weeks with a broken hand.
Maybe Ramirez?
Wonder what kind of bounty he could fetch? Hes on the 40 man and has options left and is realistically a year or two away from staying in the bigs as a catcher so they could trade for him, let him play until LoDuca gets back then send him back down.
I have no idea if Washington

According to the Rangers' website...

You know
I don’t like it when you have a 4-0 lead and walk the leadoff batter. Particularly a guy at the bottom of the order.
You got a point there
I like Gabbards propensity to get grounders, but he’s also demonstrating your point about the walks tonight…
He has not been able to command the fastball the entire season
except that one game when he threw them at 83-84 mph
However, his off speed stuff are very good, but he needs the fastball to set those up.
well
its not like he threw 4 straight balls and was trying to nibble, he just missed.

P.O.S.
Suspend his ass. I wish Nolan was near the field to give him a taste of his fist.

I also noticed on that last replay
that Gabbard’s knee locked up for a moment as Sexson jumped on him, and then buckled under the weight. I wonder if he didn’t hurt his knee due to that.
I also wonder if having both Sexson on you and Laird on top of Sexson didn’t aggravate his back.
jumped on top of him
Laird had to put him in a headlock to get him off
Grieve: The Yanks have struggled so far. - Lewin: Yeah, cry me a bag of money.
hahaha that was a hoot!
Milton Bradley was going ballistic on Laird. I thought they were going to get into it.

That is horrible....Sexson can't hit
so he throws a helmet and re injures Kason. No reason and MLB better crack down here or Padilla will do it for them.
I wish Padilla was pitching tomorrow against the Mariners
Call back Murray telling him he is going to come in early after Padilla beans Ichiro and Ibanez in the head. We’ll see how well the Mariners are able to play when they have their top 2 with concussions.
Looking back at it now
That has to be some of the dirtiest crap I’ve seen on a baseball field in a long time.
Sexson just got a rep as a cheap pansy
and he deserves it. I wish Padilla, German, or Francisco would have been out there…Sexson wouldn’t have to worry about suspensions cause he would have been hurt for at least the 10 games.
Sexson was lookin' to start something
After two Ranger batters were hit, the M’s were maybe expecting retaliation… so Sexson went apeshit for no fucking reason...
I don’t mind pitchers retaliating or the occasional brawl, but what Sexson did was so remarkably stupid and shitty…
I hope he sits for a long time.

german
he needs to throw at someone. the rangers are getting a raw deal. they didn/t’ actually hit anybody

Hey, I'm pissed too
but at this point, we aren’t a great team and we don’t really need to do more roster shuffling.
Ok, so hockey players get arrested for using their stick as a weapon...
Theoretically, could sexson be arrested for assault because he deliberately threw the helmet with the intent to injure?
that would be absolutely hilarious.
They might as well
arrest him for theft since he’s stealing millions of dollars each year with that contract.

it's not the first time someone has thrown a helmet
but it doesn’t make it any less pussy. and seriously, you are richie sexson charging someone a lot smaller than you

Ponson's punching power is there...
I’d feel good with him on the mound there.

I wouldn't want
To be in the Seattle lineup Monday night. (Padilla)
And even if he just wanted to ignite things, the way Richie went about that was candyarse.

Mariner's blog
What are they saying about Sexon?
What a hero
He threw his helmet at a guy half his size for a pitch that was nowhere near close to hitting him.
Tommu Hunter
I hope JD calls up Hunter next week when SEA come to town for the solw purpose of drilling Sexson.
