Richard Durrett has some quotes from Nolan Ryan that appear to be, in no small part, responding to the Dallas Observer blog post...

Nothing real substantive, other than, he expects the team to play good fundamental ball and not beat themselves...

The DMN and various blogspheres heard about the Observer’s item, some comment (albeit noncommital) was probably useful. Right or wrong, you don’t confirm either outside suspicions or your actual tactical plan.

JD sure stepped

in it pretty deep with his comments.

A smart experienced GM would have said the story was inaccurate and that Ron Washington was the manager of the team. Period.

This crap about saying there are no “active conversations” regarding Washington’s status and that he will be the manager of the team until the AS Break came off as very amatuerish.

and Ryan said essentially the same thing, so how does he look any better than Daniels in this? You are very selective in your criticisms. You should be working in a political campaign somewhere when you’re through burning witches here.
