I think one of the biggest factors in this good play

has been the defense. Very few errors, if any, but more importantly no bone-headed plays that don’t get recorded as errors.

he gets the job done

sinkers that hover around 91-92. He actually had a lot of control issues early on, but he also didn’t give up a hit till the 5th. just kept the ball away from the hitters

he was scarey early on

with 4 walks in the first 2 or 3 innings.

but the a’s just couldnt hit anything hard off him. it wasnt lucky smashes to fielders, it was a lot of popups and soft groundouts.

The iPod is loaded as is the music cabinet. I actually have a 14 year old daughter that digs the hell out of them. It’s based on the movie “School of Rock” with Jack Black, but that’s fine with me. Any exposure to them is fine, unless it’s of the dead ones now.

Randy Richardson said they were in the starting lineup with TOR tonight. Shrek goes 0 for 2 with a walk and strike out at DH. Box score said Matt Stairs was a PH for him at 0 for 1. Whiffy McWhifferson went 1 for 3 with an SO. It was against Sabathia who was on tonight. 1 ER on 6 hits through 7 with 9 SOs and 2 walks.

But judging from the

media reports (Thank you, Dallas Observer) he’s still on the hot seat. For the stability of this team, I hope that Richie Whitt was wrong. Wash has screwed some things up, but I still pull for the guy and want this to be a good hire. Much like a trade, you don’t know for a couple years.
