It's too bad
that we don’t have a major league caliber hitter in the nine hole. We could have used that 8th run.

Someday we will learn, to get those runners home from third

I had been hearing that Frisco has good crowds.
Is it just because the Rangers are playing at the exact same time, or is there always just 2 people sitting behind the plate.
by Ranger Capt on Jun 1, 2008 4:01 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
It is often a bit sparse behind home plate
They call those seats “founders club” or something, and the folks who hold them seem to miss a lot of games.

because our manager sucks.
and he is the cause of us having a bad record in day games and closing out sries…
How many times in the final game of a series has Washington thrown out just a riciculous lineup….
or like today sticks a pitcher into a hold situation instead of using a more reliable choice.
I am sick of his crap.
by clinton33 on Jun 1, 2008 4:25 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
alright look
The decision to go to Wright was not a bad decision. How Wright pitched was bad but hes been pretty good for us this year. Now the decision to leave him in as long as he did and the decision to go to Ribinson freaking Tejeda with the bases loaded are not ones I am going to argue with you about. Those were horrible.
by bigsteve on Jun 1, 2008 4:28 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
I didn't see the game, but...
unless Feldman was sore, tired, injured, etc, he should have come back out for the 7th. 85 pitches. That’s a good PC after 6 innings and he should’ve worked into the 7th. If our bullpen is going to be this shitty, bring up Diamond and Madrugal now.

Fuck this...
I’m glad this is the first game I haven’t been able to see on tv this year.
8 runs before an out in the 7th against the A’s offense. Are you fucking kidding me.
I don’t have a problem with starting Wright in the inning but he hasn’t looked good lately. Any why the fuck are you going to Tejeda with no one out and the bases juiced for his first appearance this year. Holy shit this absolutely sucks!

lonestarjon..bookmark this one..
whenever anyone asks so what is all this bullpen mismanagement you’re speaking of.
refer to this game because it’s classic Wash:
1) Leaving Wright in too long when it was clear from the get go that he didn’t have it.
2) And the ultimate stupidity- bringing in Tejeda in a high pressure situation fresh from AAA. You use him first in a low pressure situation, NOT a bases loaded jam with the game on the line.

Rangers...
Better win tomorrow or everybody will write them off again.
by iorange555 on Jun 1, 2008 6:49 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
you know
you are speaking about a team with 1 playoff win who hasnt been higher than 3rd place in…. a long time.
the rangers get above 500 for one day and they should be immune from criticism for completely embarrassing themselves today?
i watch everyday and am one of the most dedicated ranger fans around as are most of us here, ill critique what i please.

lies.
i was very pleased with the rangers up until the 7th inning and now that im not typing as the game is collapsing im not mad about it.
you people just dont seem to understand the concept of immediate reactions.
the only thing ive done in the past few days is answer to AJM mocking the gameday thread, reply to this guy who opened his post with “hey you idiots”, and witness a meltdown of epic proportions.
rather you happen to catch a specificly negative post or two, I havnt done anything differently and am overall fine with the rangers.

You know
I think the fact that you are the single most difficult person to converse with on the internet has something to do with your perception of my attitude.
Rangers = fine. i greatly enjoyed the last month.
Hamilton = awesome
Murph = awesome
Bradley = awesome
Kinsler = Awesome
Boggs = questioned if he should be sent down, but positive about him generally
young = yeah im negative about him right now.
padilla = im hopeful
millwood = looked great
ponson = not a believer
feldman = eh
wash = was a big supporter, but im wavering.
people complaining about others not enjoying a loss = not a big fan
etc. etc.

I’d hazard a guess that there is someone out there who is more difficult to converse with on the internet.

I agree ben
Dsheppard i wish i could tape myself while i’m watching games to show you how frustrated i get i’m a hugeeeeeeee fan. But my point is this team has been way better than most anyone expected this year and to be this grumpy and complain so much over one bad inning is just childish.
by iorange555 on Jun 1, 2008 8:26 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
but why were you so frustrated? the rangers are so far above your expactations.
who cares if I type something out online and you just sit there frustrated. you shouldn’t.

Nice try at being a smartass.
I think you just proved that you’re a sore loser and a asshole so kudos big D. Give yourself a pat on your back.

talk about childish
open your first post with “all you idiots” and then rant on me for a perfectly reasonable counterpoint.
sore loser? what the hell? who enjoys watching the rangers lose? when they win i celebrate when they lose i get frustrated. its confusing, I know.
Gerald Laird is my hero.

HMM
Do children usually walk in a room shouting hey you idiots or whine and complain like you? I’m gonna go with whine and complain.
You’re not seeing my point Big D my point is once the game is over there were still people here and on another blog talking about how much the rangers suck now and how much their bullpen sucks and oh my our manager sucks all this over one bad inning. I was only talking to the people that were still saying that after the game so if you weren’t doing that then i was even pointing my message towards you, you just happily assumed so.
by iorange555 on Jun 1, 2008 8:39 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
Do you understand that "you idiots" was YOUR post?
Your point is stupid. This is a baseball message board. Its made for discussion of the rangers. If they happen to lose in a bad way, its going to involve in some negative discussion. Newsflash, our bullpen HAS been highly questionable. Our manager made highly questionable moves today.
It is just fine that you don’t want to participate in any negative discussions, but to constantly try to insist that noone else can is absolutely ridiculous. Discuss what you want and let others discuss what they want.

by DSheppard on Jun 1, 2008 8:45 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
Lol
I do understand that big D and you called that childish when it wasn’t since children do not usually walk into a room shouting hey you idiots do they? So my post was not childish, rude? maybe but not childish.
I never said people can’t have negative discussions but people overreact too much when the rangers lose and its the same thing everytime and gets frustrating. I see the reply button big D don’t like using it though if you have a problem with i’m deeply sorry.
by iorange555 on Jun 1, 2008 8:47 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
Wow, thats a really literal definition of childish.
Not sure children get overly crushed on every decision a manager makes in a baseball game if you want to get technical.
Don’t like using the reply button eh? Thats a new one.
The fact is the same people you say are far too negative are the same people posting with glee when hammy hits a homerun. Overly happy, overly negative. Because i care more than i should about ranger games. Being a ranger blog, I figured this would be a good place for it.
Gerald Laird is my hero.

Our bullpen does suck.
They have the highest ERA of all the teams. Our bullpen ERA is 5.02 and the next worst is Detroit with an ERA of 4.29.
by coolaid on Jun 1, 2008 8:54 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
........
Big D we both care way too much thats why we are arguing so lets drop it and hug it out we both fail at life.
Our bullpen had been doing good for awhile now i bet some of that high ERA was back at the start of the season i don’t know though.
How about it ben join my debate team? we need a name though

sorry, i reviewed the posts.
your response to my perfectly legitimate frustration point was just too terribly stupid. hug denied.
cease and desist complaining about people complaining (see?) and peace shall be restored.
although i’d still be weary of this “big d” thing.

Bullpen era
Espn says its 4.69 but our bullpen also has had to pitch the most innings due to our starters but again i believe that most of that is from april hopefully they will knock it down. Gotta go bye.

"You just have those days, and today was ours," catcher Gerald Laird said. "You're going to have those games."
Well…. actually I usually only see KC and TB (ok, before this year) having games like this. Good teams don’t have shit like this happen. Good teams don’t ever give up a 9 spot in an inning. That isn’t just one of “those” games. I hope that’s just a way to try to help the team get over this shitty ass loss.
