No Respect!
Now, I realize that we are a .500 team in a tough division. I realize that we are not an East Coast team. I realize we have a reputation of horrible pitching. I realize all of this, but we have been playing some decent baseball and have an offense everyone is jealous of. Granted we need to score 9 runs per game to win with our bullpen. I have hesitated to do so recently, but today I went to espn.com and hit the Preview button next to tonights match-up vs, the Royals. The Accu-score game simulator had us underdogs to the Rays, sure, the hottest team in the league, understandable. The Accu-Score had us underdogs vs. the Indians, understandable, we had to face the heart of their pitching rotation. The A's, underdogs, understandable, they have been playing very well and have a better record than we do. Today, however, can someone explain to me why we are once again underdogs to the friggin' Royals? I know that they are at home, but come on!!! Our "Ace" is on the mound, we are a powderkeg team, and the Royals are terrible, why are we underdogs. I get frustrated with this team as much as the next guy, but I have been a fan all my life, I deserve to be able to say when we stink, but we actually don't stink quite as bad this year, and ESPN and to a lesser extent MLB.com dosen't really give us much due. Just soapboxin' here people...tell me what you think.

if the rangers are underdogs and you're so sure they'll win
then place money on them

I would...
if they would handcuff Jaime Wright and Benoit to their seats on the plane until the game is over…

Don't know why
But that mental image gave me the chuckles.
I guess it was the beatings made me wise. But I'm not about to give thanks, or apologize.

Wait...
....we have an ace?

its based on statistical simulations
and such, who cares

Well...
it’s not like Accu-Score has a bias. It just takes data and has a formula to base an outcome? It’s not ESPN pimping East Coast teams.

Exactly
I don’t know why coasts had to be brought in to it. You think AccuScore actually has an east coast bais?
Maybe so. I’ve thought for a while that VORP has a midwest bias.
And, weirdly, Win Shares are biased towards teams that play in cities away from major waterways.
I think the What If generator has a bias towards teams with names less alphabetical than M.

Dude...
We have the worst pitching staff in all of baseball top to bottom. We are underdogs in every single game we play.

I know...
Just frustrated…was at Saturdays game and it has just left a bad taste. At least the dirt bikes doing flips in the street after the game was worth the $200 dollars

Wait...
Why are you paying $200 to watch the Rangers? The Yankees, Red Sox, Cubs, Dodgers I can see, but the Rangers?
Dude you can get seats in the upper deck for $10 and the view is pretty damn good.
I was looking for some action, but all I found were cigarettes and alcohol.

Nice tickets for several people... $12 to park... a couple beers...
a few billion here and a few billion there and pretty soon, you’re talking about real money.

The Rangers actually have a fairly decent record when that accu-score picks them as underdogs
It’s when they’re favorites that I worry.

Well, the Rangers are the 12th best team in baseball.
According to the Yahoo Team Ranker. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/teamrankerresults
lol

The Rangers have played like the 12th best team in baseball
since their horrific April. Probably a fair ranking.

Why
do you care what media organizations/columnists/other people etc. say about us? You sound like a little high school chick:
You: “Like, ohmigod, did you hear what they said about me?”
Friend: “Like no, what?”
You: “Like, they totally, like dissed me, for no reason, and I don’t even like, know them.”
Friend: “Like, no way!”
You: “Like, yeah!”
Friend: “Let’s get a slurpee.”
You: “Like, I’m too bummed now.”
etc.

Like, ohmigod.
That is probably a LSB record for using the word “like” in a post.

Well,
that’s they way high school girls talk. I know because I used to be one and that’s the way I talked. Thankfully I don’t anymore, like ever…I mean uh, just ever…

Your avatar looks close enough to miles' avatar
that for a second, I thought it was him… thank God I actually saw your username before I questioned the whole “used to be a high school girl” thing.

LMAO
That was pretty good. Especially the part about the slurpee.
Unfortunately, it’s all to true when it comes to how high-school kids talk these days. Out here in California, it’s not really limited to the girls, either.

We're complaining that a mostly stat-based computer simulation isn't giving us respect?
I must be reading this wrong.
