Ramirez, Mendoza sent down
Per the DMN, Elizardo Ramirez cleared waivers and is back with Oklahoma, and Luis Mendoza has been activated from the disabled list and optioned to Oklahoma.
No real surprise on either of those...I do think, though, that it is interesting to note Mendoza's performances at AAA this season.
April 7 -- 7 1/3 IP, 1 ER, 0 walks, 2 Ks
May 26 -- 2 IP, 5 ER, 0 walks, 0 Ks
May 31 -- 2/3 IP, 7 ER, 1 walk, 0 Ks
June 5 -- 4 IP, 0 ER, 0 walks, 2 Ks
June 10 -- 4 IP, 0 ER, 1 walk, 5 Ks
Either real, real good, or real, real bad...

We are lucky that he cleared. The guys stuff is astonishing, can’t wait to watch him for years to come.

OT: Mariners
Go read the three after-the-game posts by DMZ on USSMariner.com right now. They are hilarious. They sent a lineup out with Bloomquist hitting #2 and Miguel Cairo(!) hitting 3rd. Needless to say, they aren’t happy about this up there.
Every time I feel a little down about the mediocrity that is the 2008 Texas Rangers, I think about the M’s…
Read what Jeff at LL wrote about Cairo instead.
It literally had me ROFL
"One of you asked me once if I am a recent Red Sox fan. Sure, as recent as 1986...when my fellow UT Longhorns fan & Texan Roger Clemens was the Cy Young winner and one hell of a young man...who has used steroids, cheated on his wife, had about 10 bar fights, escaped a few DUIs, and I mean ESCAPED, fought with his teammates - but all the while loved his sons and the game. I'll take Clemens over Millwood and Padilla anyday.." - bosoxsiempregirl
^^^^ Wow, I would too. I guess that makes me the next John Schuerholtz.

Either real, real good, or real, real bad…
reminds me of benoit a couple years ago and as of late.
Mendoza...
at least he has something to build on. Still can’t really see him being a MLB starting pitcher, but heh, stranger things have happened.
Why have they limited him to 4 IP in his last couple starts? Just trying to get his confidence up or still injury concerns there?

Nolan's...
going to be pissed. He should be throwing at least 175 pitches or 11 innings per start.
Damn pitchers these days are such pussies.
