Tejeda DFA'd

Robinson Tejeda was designated for assignment to make room for Kason Gabbard on the 25 man roster.

I'd be surprised if Tejeda is claimed, and since he has been outrighted before, he has the right to become a free agent if he clears waivers this time.

If the Rangers weren't going to give him any more time than this, then I'm not sure why they bothered calling him up when they did, a few weeks ago.  He was brought up to replace Kam Loe in the bullpen, for no real reason.

The 40 man now stands at 37, although Thomas Diamond will have to be activated soon from the 60 day d.l. (and Jason Jennings will be put on the 60 day d.l. when a roster spot is needed).

more serious response

he might turn into a good pitcher with another club but that doesn’t mean it would have ever happened here. I don’t know if our pitching coaches are just bad at fixing problems or what but too many pitchers seem to do better elsewhere and a lot of them get their mechanics corrected (although I don’t remember hearing that john danks changed his). before i used to think it was a lack of patience on the rangers part but now i’m not so sure. tejeda has had lots of chances.

Sweet

Nice to see them out having fun. Milton looks like the kind of guy who teammates love.

Although after seeing Franchise Face wearing a sleeveless tee, I’m pretty sure I could whoop that ass. You’re a major league player, it’s okay to lift some weights every now and again, Mr. Face.

LMAO

Yeah, after seeing that, I think I actually do buy the story about him dropping a weight on his finger… maybe now we see why his SLG% has dropped so much the last year and a half.

Looks like fun.

Anybody know where to find the Rick Dempsey video? Remember, ran the bases in the rain on the tarp. It was in the late 70s or early 80s. I don’t think it is on youtube.

This is really odd roster management.

Perhaps my biggest worry

and doubt about JD. Despite my confidence in his ability to acquire talent, I am not confident that the front office will be successful in getting it all on the roster together without having a Madrigal-type situation sooner or later, or just having several waiver losses over the years that come back to bite them.

...and curse Sir Sidney Ponson, he was such a stupid git.

by t ball on Jun 15, 2008 12:22 AM CDT up reply actions

Yep

I think even the most anti-JD Ranger fans have to admit that he has done a hell of a job stocking the farm system with talent. However, there have been some really odd roster moves in regards to the 40-man roster. Hopefully he figures it out soon.

I get so mad whenever I see that tag

“The 40 Man Rules All”. Bleck. You do that just to taunt me, don’t you, Adam?

You and I are gonna have some serious words on this subject at Lonestarball Night in ‘10.

Random Chris Davis post!!!!

Went 2 for 4 with ANOTHER homer – his 5th…. now hitting .356/.415/.644 – all improvements over his Frisco stats!

also had 2 Ks and a throwing error (but who’s counting that stuff?)

Someday I will become a RangerMAN!

Anyone know how Kiker did tonight? There wasn’t a box up for the game.

by LiamP on Jun 15, 2008 12:23 AM CDT reply actions

The Royals will pick him up...

They appear to be the only team in the A.L. Central that doesn’t have a pitcher the Rangers have given up on (Danks, Galarraga, Bauer, Reyes)... and even they’ve got Mahay.

I think Galarraga hurts the most… they could have kept him and let Tejeda go to start with.

Wherever Tejeda ends up, he’ll be a solid #2 or #3 within a year or so. Though it might take a bit of patience(like the Orioles with Daniel Cabrera).
