looking forward to this game,
but I am also waiting for Clinton’s allstar game to start. They have the gameday up for it.
I would love nothing more
than for Padilla to bean Texiara with the first pitch he throws and then give an innocent look as to how could you resist $140 million

Cowboys
Cowboys want him to sign an injury settlement in case he can’t come back from his knee injury or gets reinjured so they won’t be on the hook for his contract and he won’t sign it. They won’t let him workout or practice unless he does

Ya
but its going to be interesting how some of those young guys, i.e Austin, Hurd, and the guy I’m really excited about, Amandeola do with Romo in this offense

TAG!!!
Good to see he is at least good enough to be at the ballpark
Bryan Smith (12:17:17 PM PT): Justin Smoak and Josh Hamilton. The AL West might just have found their Bash Brothers, v. 2.0.
Lewin
I don’t know if he was acting or was genuinely suprised but he looked shocked to see TAG sitting next to him
Bryan Smith (12:17:17 PM PT): Justin Smoak and Josh Hamilton. The AL West might just have found their Bash Brothers, v. 2.0.
series price
ATL – 135
TEX – 105
never understood the 30 cent lines, but ATL is the slightest of favorites.
probably similar price next series at WAS. can rangers spilt the next 6? i would love to see them 4-2, but i think that might be a little unrealistic.
go rangers…
Padilla
Looks good so far

ah well
At least more of the crowd can get in to boo Tex while the Rangers are hitting

Why boo Teixeira?
He was pretty great as a Ranger and brought them a great return in trade.
he had good stats
But his general attitude both while he was here and during his departure and right after was really bad. I don’t know if I would boo but I don’t cherish him the way I cherish other former Rangers
Bryan Smith (12:17:17 PM PT): Justin Smoak and Josh Hamilton. The AL West might just have found their Bash Brothers, v. 2.0.
I agree
He didn’t have a very graceful exit. But I appreciate what he gave the Rangers while he was here, and what we got in return for him. Tex was the reason I got into baseball, so I think a small part of me will always cheer for him.

Did people boo him when he was still a Ranger?
Because I’m not sure what he did afterwards that would make him more worth booing.

alright Hammy

McCann
Anybody that can go back and watch from when MY got struck out until the home run. McCann was staring at Hammys feet and loking up at him almost saying”theres no way he can hit an inside pitch” Then BAM. Its greatness. Im guessing that will be the last inside pitch he sees tonight

Kinsler!!!!!!!!!
Nice play.

What would be hilarious
is if Texas signed Teixeira this offseason.

Nothing wrong with it at all
he was a whiny five year old but a great defensive first baseman and an above average hitter.
who was expected to be
one of the best hitters in the league, but due to his huge slumps each April/May, he never did that.
it's not like boras comes to arlington...
absent an opportunity to boo boras, booing his clients makes the most sense to me.
plus, tex is too much like boras IMO. very a-rodish.
by sam in so cal on Jun 17, 2008 7:28 PM CDT up reply actions
Teix
I dont think he should be booed, while i didnt like some of the things he said he shouldnt be booed.
now i will admit i booed kenny rogers in his first start back, because of all the crap that happened …. but i’m over that
"I'm against picketing, but I don't know how to show it." - Mitch Hedberg
hammy
is so due for a huge game, it seems like the past few games he just gets one rbi at a time, he needs to put up 4 or 5 again.
here's an idea for going against Hudson
Make him pitch some, huh? I mean, great job Hammy but you other guys show some patience!
21 pitches
17 strikes
4 balls
kinda hard
by FreeMoney4Sale on Jun 17, 2008 7:28 PM CDT up reply actions
Just close your eyes
and swing like crazy, maybe the other 8 guys will get as lucky as Hamilton and we’ll put up a few runs.
Looks like
both pitchers want to get this game over with in a hurry

Not a real setback though
Wanted to start swinging (or something) today, couldnt do it. New target friday.
Bring up Justin Smoak
shhhhhhh. an idea...
i know it’s early, but how about we don’t jinx it tonight for padilla.
we all know that he is p_ through thr_, so let’s keep a lid on it.
keep a lid on what?
who is Padilla?
Wait… what the hell is this baseball thing you guys keep talking about?
Grieve: The Yanks have struggled so far. - Lewin: Yeah, cry me a bag of money.
swingin early
we really arent workin the counts are we
Tex
Probably asking if he called that pitch at his head the first at bat
Bryan Smith (12:17:17 PM PT): Justin Smoak and Josh Hamilton. The AL West might just have found their Bash Brothers, v. 2.0.
it was:
Tex (has a little girl’s voice, very whiny)- How come you guys couldn’t play good with meeeeeee????
Laird – Because you are a douche
Hit and run baby!!!
B-E-A-utiful
Bryan Smith (12:17:17 PM PT): Justin Smoak and Josh Hamilton. The AL West might just have found their Bash Brothers, v. 2.0.
the teacher...
seeing how the team is playing compared to their effort in NY, maybe the teacher served as a slump buster yesterday and scored some free seats…
its a good slider
Bryan Smith (12:17:17 PM PT): Justin Smoak and Josh Hamilton. The AL West might just have found their Bash Brothers, v. 2.0.
kinsler hasn't even been close to hitting one of those pitches
If you want some slack, bring your own rope.
well, he is a good pitcher after all.
cant expect the entire lineup to mash him.
Bring up Justin Smoak
No outs
bases loaded, and Young/Hamilton/Bradley coming up. It will be interesting to see them screw this up.
interesting
I do not think this means what you think it means…
Grieve: The Yanks have struggled so far. - Lewin: Yeah, cry me a bag of money.
excellent adjustment by kins.
only took him one at bat and 2 pitches to adjust and lay off that pitch.

he wasn't out
the ball bounced, why it looks like he was out. the ball didn’t hit the glove until later

That's what I was looking at.
And Kinsler slid to the right of the bag a bit but it wasn’t too bad

within arms length
He could have reached out and touched the base so it was a legal slide

i really want hammy to get to 100 rbis at the all star break

The Rangers probably aren't
going to be taking risks with Bradley. At least we get to see Boggs hit some.
Here comes the rain again...
falling on my head like a memory
Grieve: The Yanks have struggled so far. - Lewin: Yeah, cry me a bag of money.
Padilla
is getting cold and confortable with the lead
Probably for the better
I still think it’s only a cramp.
It was 4-0. They shook it, he ran on it, now he’ll go get hyrdrated.
This is the advantage of swinging early in the count
The pitcher knows it so won’t groove it so you lay off and he loses some of that control
Bryan Smith (12:17:17 PM PT): Justin Smoak and Josh Hamilton. The AL West might just have found their Bash Brothers, v. 2.0.
that rain better disappear fast.
or we better bunt until the fifth inning is done.
Bring up Justin Smoak
Son of a bitch
and to think some of you guys want to resign him.
Please god just stay healthy for 1 more month, thats all I ask.
what in Milton Bradley's track record
leads you to have faith in his health?
the guy has been incredible, but you SHOULD have long term doubts.

that's what i heard
i wanted to go and get a baseball game for my wii this weekend but they say there really isn’t a good one out yet, so i just picked up 2k7 since it was in the bargin bin.
Hm
The Braves have yet to make legal contact to a ball in which one can safely aquire a base on which to be safe from.
i also thought it was weird
that it sounds like you are trying not to end the sentence with a preposition…but you did anyway.
Rare Gnats Sex
its only the 4th inning
padilla giving up 8 runs is much more likely than…. the alternative.

Speaking of Nolan and Ventura
I’ve told the forum about this before, but I just sent off an email about it to the booth. Here’s what I wrote…
“I have a plaque with a close-up picture of Robin Ventura in a Nolan Ryan headlock with Nolan’s fist pummeling Ventura. Down below the photo is engraved “Ryan’s Seven Hitter” “

Do you really think
we’ll trade Salty before Laird? With agent, service time and age all factored in?
no
just getting a rise out of LSJ
Grieve: The Yanks have struggled so far. - Lewin: Yeah, cry me a bag of money.
Eh
I’m used to Salty trade rumors.
But IMO, you can’t trade Salty or Teagarden yet, because neither one has proven they’re gonna be a full-time ML catcher. Salty offers the offense and superstar potential, while Tea’s got the defense, – but you can’t trade either until you find one starts to truly realize thier potential.

One of my favorite things in sports is
when the home team gives a standing O to the pitcher for losing his no hitter/perfect game anything in the 5th inning and later. Near as I can tell the Ranger fans didnt do that for Padilla.
They were too busy...
