A Chris Davis Question
Patrick (Somerville, MA): Would calling up Chris Davis for the Rangers make sense in the near future? Or does the impending roster crunch mean that Ranger fans will have to wait until the roster expands?SportsNation Jim Callis: (2:37 PM ET ) Yes, it would. Many of you have sent in questions mentioning that he has homered twice more today. He obviously brings more to the table than Chris Shelton or Ben Broussard.
So does that mean Callis thinks we still have Bromide, or is he just getting in another dig on how shitty Bromide really is as a baseball player?

Response
With the way the question is structured, you would think the response would look something like:
“Call him up, crowded roster be damned”, or “No point in releasing players and getting nothing in return. Wait until you find somebody to take a player or two, if even for just the proverbial ‘live arm’.”

Davis
If JD wants to leave him in AAA til the trade deadline, so a wider reconfiguration happens at once that’s fine.
Otherwise, the position switch for Blalock doesn’t really make sense to me. We’re thin at 3B and Davis has less to prove with each passing day.
Or, of course, JD could start breaking him in before Hank’s even healthy again. Seems Chris wouldn’t mind.

We're not THAT thin at 3b
Vasquez is absolutely KILLING rhp, and he shows no real signs of slowing down.
Don’t get me wrong, a lot of very noticeable signs are all screaming that he’s not really this good and should come back down to earth, but until he does, let’s just enjoy the ride. It’s unlikely but not unthinkable that he could stay hot and have a career year.

Some ugly douche asked a Justin Smoak question
Hunter Thornton (US of A): If Justin Smoak signed tomorrow, where would you start him off? Short-Season, Low-A or High-A?SportsNation Jim Callis: (3:00 PM ET ) Low Class A.

Oh
My hair isn’t red at all, but I guess it looks a little red in that photo. Not really, but maybe sort of.
I’d kill myself if I was a ginger.
