Monday a.m. things
Woo-hoo!!! A game over .500!!!
Evan Grant says it was all about the fastballs last night, with Vicente Padilla and C.J. Wilson having success sticking to the hard stuff. Jeff Wilson says it was all about the timely pinch hitting, with Frank Catalanotto and Ramon Vazquez getting key pinch hit RBIs.
Milton Bradley will be relegated to pinch-hitting duties in Houston this week, per Ron Washington. Also per Ron Washington, David Murphy was just getting a rest on Sunday, and he's still planning on using Murphy against LHPs. And Hank Blalock will be activated for tomorrow's game, with Chris Shelton likely dropped to make room for him.

I wonder what happens to Maxy Poo's
playing time now that Blalock is being activated.

Sucks that Bradley is still out.

yes. sucks.
he could definitely make the difference (offensively) in winning 2 of 3 instead of 1 of 3 against a struggling astros team. obviously it’s not worth prolonging his injury to get him back, and defensively he could possibly be a liability depending on his condition.
2 of 3 would be a huge step forward for the team, but it’s certainly not worth risking losing MB for an extended period (longer than the current extended period that keeps getting extended).

Bradley
Would it almost be best to just say “Hey Milt look just take the next week and a half and rest it. No sense trying to come back too soon” and put him on the 15 day DL. Based on MBs personality he seems like the type of guy that would try and come back too soon and if its a simple injury like a quad strain then he could make it worse trying to come back too soon.

Hopefully....
We can generate some trade interest in Hank.
As for Max, I hope he gets 1 start at 1B and 1 start at C during the Houston series, however once Bradley is back fulltime at DH he will have very limited oppurtunities.

CJ's fast ball
CJ can be my closer if he continues to throw fast balls like yesterday afternoon. Mid 90s is A-OK by me as long as he can control them. I was pretty impressed to say the least.

Diamond
Nice outing so far today. 5 shutout innings with only 1 hit allowed.

Especially since he's only walked one so far
55 of his 90 pitches are strikes. Though he gave up 2 runs in the 6th inning. Great signs that he is recovering from TJ surgery
By 2028, Mark Teixeira will be in the HOF.

Andrus 1-3 with a walk and a strikeout. Man has that lineup gotten boring since the beginning of the year…

Board Game...
this is a prime example of why some don’t want to sign him to a long-term deal. He’s just fragile and can’t stay healthy. Damn do the Rangers miss him in the middle of that lineup though.
