PrintPeter Abraham says Sidney Ponson will get called up by the Yankees to start against the Mets on Friday.
It will be interesting to see how this chapter in the Ponson adventure plays out...

4-1, 3.88 ERA?
I know LSB is much more excited about guys who can go .230/.325/.344 as terrible fielding DH types, but I like watching folks who can actually perform.

saying you thought he was going to keep that ERA all season with a WHIP of 1.47? C’mon. If everyone else here thought he was awesome you’d be posting nonstop that he wasn’t based on that and his other underwhelming periferals.
It’s not necessary to always have the opposite opinion of the majority. We’ll still respect your curmudgeonly image.

Unintentional comedy wise, Ponson is a walking gem when it comes to bits.

I knew the Yankees would end up getting Ponson this year, but I thought we would trade him, not give him to them.
My wife’s a Yankees fan, but she doesn’t like Ponson.

I hope...
he pitches a CG shutout and then meets some of the players at a bar after the game to celebrate.
Later that night he’s doing shots with some hotties when ARod comes over and tells him to “cool down a little”. Of course Ponson takes exception and punches ARod right in the face. Down goes ARod. A brawl breaks out and Ponson cleans house. He wakes up in a pile of his own vomit not remembering a thing.
The best part though is the Yanks don’t release him because he pitched a CG shutout. Who cares if he punched ARod, the guy can pitch. Listening to Cashman and the Steinbrenner’s handle that in the media would be the defenition of greatness.
