Freddy Garcia
In Jon Heyman's latest column, he lists the Rangers amongst a host of teams that watched Garcia throw twenty five pitches recently. Now, it could be that the Rangers were mentioned just because Garcia is a pitcher or they could have legitimate interest. I could see him coming in for a rest-of-season deal if the Rangers remain competitive but I thought I would give people a chance to discuss Garcia in a Rangers uniform on a slow off day.

With him being a pitcher that has had some success, of course he's worth a look
Whether it would be a good idea to sign him is another story entirely. Jason Jennings comes to mind… but so does Bartolo Colon (as long as he never swings the bat).
ponson is a better comp than jennings
not in terms of how they’ll perform but in terms of what kind of risk they were taking by taking him on.

Garcia has a reputation for drinking...
vodka out of paper cups instead of water during games in which he’s pitching. I’m not kidding.

A former teammate of Garcia.
He shall remain nameless.

What is with all the mysterious inside info on LSB recently?
Between JParks and a couple of others, this might as well be a secret society we’re talking about here.

Psssstt!!!
Why is Parks getting credit my super secret info? I’m the mysterious one, dammit!

No kidding
I’m in the secret society but I’m often blindfolded and forced to drink the blood of 16 year Dominican pitching prospects.
We're not talking about it.
No one is. Ever. And that’s how we like it.

A little vodka never hurt anyone...
This is the Texas Rangers, professional destroyers of hope, we're talking about. - BAC
Sign HIm
when I mentioned Lohse and Colon nobody wanted them, and I think we gave Jennings more than both of them combined! Who cares if he never throws a pitch in the TBIA sign him to the minimum and get started on some rehab assignments, these deals are NO LOSE. NO LOSE NO LOSE!
Those two aren't anything alike.
In any way… except that they are both right handed and that they were both White Sox at one time.

Well, actually saying it...
would have been a lot better than comparing a 24-year-old with bizarre elbow inflammation to a 31-year-old fat drunk coming off shoulder surgery.

pass
I’m all for signing guys like Jennings once in a while to see if you can cheaply get a guy on the rebound, but I think Daniels might be trying too hard to catch lightning in a bottle sometimes.
...and curse Sir Sidney Ponson, he was such a stupid git.
