i dont know that i like that news
it obviously wasnt going to be a broken leg or something, i was hoping for something that didnt involve joints.

our injuries
with Bradley not being able to play the field and only Max and Duran left to play you have to keep some flexibility in case of a double swithc or something. Thats one of the reasons the NL sucks
Bryan Smith (12:17:17 PM PT): Justin Smoak and Josh Hamilton. The AL West might just have found their Bash Brothers, v. 2.0.
That's great...
... Valverde waiting to slam the door and make some contorted, stupid looking face on the mound after strike 3. I can’t wait.

Hey Guys
We’ve started calling Carlos Lee “El Burro.”
I believe you guys recall from his brief visit with the Rangers his ability to, shall we say, speed up to a trot when running the basepaths.
We call him el turdo
"Would you mind walking a time or two so I could drive in some runs"? Milton Bradley
JD is el turdo for renting him

He's Tolerable Defensively
And he was a welcome addition after we suffered through the likes of Morgan Ensberg and Jason Lane.
We may regret it in a few years. Probably.
Hammy
left knee inflammation. day to day. Good to hear although with no DH he will have to be able to at least play RF the next couple days otherwise our offense is going to suck something fierce
Bryan Smith (12:17:17 PM PT): Justin Smoak and Josh Hamilton. The AL West might just have found their Bash Brothers, v. 2.0.
because we're tearing it up right now?

stop with the video games
you can’t just put guys wherever you want and expect them to be able to play it. This is one of the stupidest ideas yet
Bryan Smith (12:17:17 PM PT): Justin Smoak and Josh Hamilton. The AL West might just have found their Bash Brothers, v. 2.0.
Hey
if Mench can make the transition in two or three games surely Hammy could take some GB’s and be able to do it for a game or two, but your right look how bad Berkman has been at it
by blueballlefty on Jun 24, 2008 9:16 PM CDT up reply actions
yeah how did that work out for Mench?
and did he do that in the minors or majors?

who cares if it
was AAA or up here he played fine there and he is playing in the league right now isnt he? If you were to put Hammy at 1st once a week until we get a more solid player there I dont think that would be the worst Idea since this is his first full pro season in like 4 years.

how does this happen?
the rangers go in and only take 1 out of 3 from the mets, and now the mariners have gone in and taken the first 2, completely destroying the Mets, while the immortal RA Dickey threw 7 shutout innings tonight….
First Hurley, now Max, and eventually, Davis. man for the first time in a while, it sure feels good to be a Ranger’s fan.
His power knuckle curve was on tonight.

Stars in a Texas Night Sky, a Dallas Stars blog from a fan's perspective.
Exactly...
you don’t see strategy like that in the AL! I mean it takes a lot of strategy to replace the latest crappy NL hitter you have in your lineup with a pitcher and bring on a defensive replacement. No AL manager understands that…
...mainly because they woudln’t know what a crappy hitter is generally.

the ball looked like it changed direction in slow-motion
hence the catcher missing the ball…

I could be wrong...
but I am watching it on DVR right now and it looks like it’s just some nasty tailing action on the pitch…no contact from Byrd

One could easily argue..
thgere’s no chance anyone they bring in to replace him could do any worse. I mean did you just watch that inning? He had a five-pitch walk and then presented a silver-platter home run ball to Berkman. Ouch, he is our opposition’s best friend.

Each of those players is much much better than Benoit. Anyone in baseball would say the same. Pedroia and Tulo rookies of the year or in serious contention. Oswalt= perennial Cy Young candidate.

Shit.
We’re 0-? when we’re a game over .500? Very frustrating.
Pretty Soon
He’ll be mouthing that Lidge stuff before we traded him: “I don’t care about my ERA as long as I get the save.”
You get one punch to the face...
You hittin Valverde or Benoit?

Can it be a glancing blow...
and hit both Valverde and Sexson in the face on the same punch?

Valverde
at least Benoit realizes that he sucks

Valverde
with brass knuckles.

hahha
My position on this one is pretty obvious. But if we just DFA him, I could stand not punching him.
Hey, it could be worse...

When clowns defended Benoit.. heh.

No one is defending his shitty play...
... it’s your calls for him to lose his spot that is drawing opposition.

I can't believe what I read here. I really can't..
Give me a reason why he should keep his spot. I mean we want the same thing (at least I think so)- the Rangers to win as many games as possible.
Benoit has failed in that regard time and time again this year.

FX2 has failed plenty this year and has had control problems.
Wright failed miserably after the Oakland series, but looks to be getting it back again. CJ has had a bad year. Should they all be DFA’d too? Who would you replace Benoit with? You’d just assume DFA Benoit instead of trying to let him work it out and possibly getting some trade value from him? Perhaps you weren’t here in April/May, when he started well and we were discussing his trade value to various teams. Thus, he hasn’t sucked this entire year.
Hell, following your logic, why wasn’t the entire 2007 team DFA’d last May?

good point
about the DL. +1. He doesn’t look right.

Even if he's not hurt
a DL gives him 30 free days in the minors. Let him work it out there, you don’t give up on the guy that was your best reliever last year.
Another Bright Side
Cops is on…bring on the shirtless drunks and ugly crackwhores

What a depressing game
It’s back to processing police reports for me. Maybe that’ll be more uplifting.

Damn I gotta say
Before I thought that bullpens were worthless, just throw 6 or 7 failed starters out there and you will be fine.
Now I see the light. Trade everybody for pitching.
If anyone should be DFA'd,
it should be Shelton. Bring up Chris Davis.

One postgame question
Does Wash have some evil incantation or voodoo spell on his head about 8th innings? Unless Benoit’s “tired arm” is actually an injury, and it may be, his stuff is nothing like it has been 2005-2007. Byrd’s K was in fact a foul ball. Salty was on base three times. MY was on base three times. Tough game to lose.

interesting points Ed!
A voodoo spell? Well that’s an interesting slant. We may have to do an exorcism to rid him of such proclivities.
Lonestarjon get the holy water and cross ready I’ll hold him down while you do the ritual.
Burn his sunflower seeds in the background for the projectile vomiting and head spinning effects. I don’t know what else to do besides a brain transplant?
As if the night weren't depressing enough

Is that
the same O.Perez that dominated us last week, made us look like a bunch of 12 year olds with the bats!
by blueballlefty on Jun 25, 2008 12:22 AM CDT up reply actions
Yes
He’s a free agent this winter, BTW. Good pitcher, but very inconsistent. He’s either lights out or very bad, and you never really know which version is gonna show up out on the mound.
