Blalock out until the break
T.R. Sullivan reports that Hank Blalock is still having wrist problems, and will be out until at least the All Star Break.
I've got nothing.

Umm,
Let’s get Davis up for a couple weeks before the break and try to see if he can handle it. If he owns first and produces at the plate, I’d say forget Blalock at first. If he can come back after the break, put him back at 3rd….wow….MAX JUST ROCKED THAT BALL!!!! OMG!!!!
Trade Blalock and now Salty. lol Let’s get some freakin pitching!!!!!!!!
I don't get it
How people call Blalock a cancer I’ll never know. By most accounts, the guy’s wildly popular in the clubhouse and when healthy, a decent player.
+1
but he’s injured way too much, time to move on.

I just don't care if he comes
back to the team. Is he even a better option than Cat at 1st? I’m no Cat fan, but can’t say I see any huge difference.
He's not a cancer
He was born on November 21 and Cancer is June 21 to July 22.

the all-star break
will give him that little bit of extra rest he needs, great timing
back and better than ever
so what
have the last two months giving him?

at this point...
i do not see how the organization can count on him this year. I think they should basically act as if they do not have blalock at all this season. DFA Shelton, roll with Cat and Ramirez at first and call up Cruz now since we have a shortage of outfielders. Dump Cat and Byrd at the deadline and call up Davis if Hank still isn’t ready by the break. Use Cruz, Murph, Hammy, Bradley, Ramirez at the OF/DH spots and if Cruz sucks still then keep Boggs up with the club.

I can live with that
Might as well see if Cruz still sucks so he doesn’t become the next Adrian Gonzalez. That way when he still sucks you don’t feel bad about DFAing his ass.
No Bradley or Hamilton tonight...
who is ready for 2 runs!
hopefully davis found his way into the lineup.
As for Hank.. unsurprising. Do you have a comment on the calls for Davis though? If Blalock is out until the thrade deadline, its quite possible he would never have to be sent down if he succeeded.
Bring up Chris Davis
I'm begining to doubt
he’ll ever take the field again for the Rangers. The shame is the club won’t get anything out of him via trade. His option won’t be picked up and he’ll quietly leave. Those rumors about PEDs and it’s effects on the body are only going to get louder in association with him.
What a waste.
Well if that's the case...
His last hit as a Ranger was a damn good one, which I was at the park to see.

He's still my favorite player.

Great (old) article.

...and curse Sir Sidney Ponson, he was such a stupid git.
I'm a big Hank fan...
and I still think he can contribute when ON the field. At this point though I’m just pissed off. This is getting to be a damn joke.
When this season started and I thought there was a 95% chance his option for next year would be picked up. Now I think it’s down to about a 25% chance the team picks up that option. I’ve heard of injuries and bad luck before, but the last couple of years have just been a joke. I’m starting to think he’s to damn fragile to ever be counted on to play regularly again.
