Welcome to the show, Chris Davis.

Longview's Davis called-up by the Rangers...
Former Longview Lobo Chris Davis is headed to the "show", after being called-up from Triple-A Oklahoma by the Texas Rangers.
Davis, who is hitting .333 with 10-HR's, and 31-RBI in 31-games with the Red Hawks, is expected to be in the lineup for the Rangers on Thursday night in Houston against the Astros.
Davis told KTBB Sports Director David Smoak, "You and I have been talking about this call for the last two weeks, and it finally came, and I'm very excited." Davis added, "This is something I've worked on since I was able to understand what it might be like to one day play in the major leagues."
Davis, who also attended Navarro College continued by saying, "I have an early morning flight from here in Oklahoma City to Houston, and honestly---it hasn't sunk in yet, and probably won't until I put that uniform on Thursday night."
Davis also mentioned he has numerous members of his family who will be in Houston on Thursday night, and he said, "I'm very lucky, very blessed, and I'm really looking forward to these next few days."
Davis became a member of the Rangers franchise in 2006 after being selected during the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft.

I'm so super-stoked about this.
I’m thinking that I might call in to work tomorrow night to watch his Rangers debut. I might get fired but I don’t give a shit.
Watching Davis make his Major League debut > Making 6 bucks an hour at Little Caesars.

Lucky me
I get to drive 40-ish minutes south to cover a little league postseason tournament game with first pitch scheduled for 5 p.m. pacific… aka 7 p.m. central.
My only consolation is that there’s a Verizon EV-DO cell tower on one of the light poles at that very same field, so I get nice, quick internet on my phone.

Congrats on your Bulldogs...
...winning the CWS. That, plus Davis, all in two days – not a bad week, despite the Little League duties!
